    Khutbat Ul Hajaah

All Praise is due to Allah: We Praise Him: We beg assistance of Him:

We ask Him for forgiveness. We have faith in Him: We have reliance

    on Him.

We fly for refuge unto Him (to deliver us) from the mischief of our

minds and from the evil consequences of our actions.Whomever Allah directs shall not go astray: and whomever He allows

to go astray, no one can guide.

We profess that there is nothing worthy of worship except Allah, andwe further profess that Muhammad is His Servant and His Messenger.

(O mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, Who created you from a singleperson, and from him He created his wife, and from them both Hecreated many men and women, and fear Allh through Whom youdemand your mutual (rights), and (do not cut the relations of) the

(O you who believe! Keep your duty to Allh and fear Him, and speak(always) the truth 70. He will direct you to do righteous good deedsand will forgive you your sins. And whosoever obeys Allh and HisMessenger (SAW) he has indeed achieved a great achievement (i.e. hewill be saved from the Hell-fire and made to enter Paradise). [al-Ahzaab 33:70].

Brothers and Sisters in Islam Allah Tala the King of the Universe in the Salah is telling

that the first quality in defining the successful believers is the ones who perform the

    Salah with Khushoo.

Today, I want to remind myself and you about some points related to the meaning of

three parts of salah. So that Insha-Allah we can move towards this goal of offer the salahwith khushoo, with humility, with a sense that we see Allah and though we do not see

    him Allah see us.

The three parts of salah we are going to focus on are takbir, ruku, and sajdah.

    Meaning of Allah-hu-Akbar

    Scholar***************

The formAllhu is the nominative ofAllah"God". The nominative case marks the

subject of a verb. When the verb is active, the nominative is the person or thingperforming the action (agent); when the verb is passive, the nominative is the person orthing receiving the action:

    1 .The boy saw him.

The formakbaris the elative of the adjective kabr"great", from the trilateral rootk-b-r.()

The term takbritself is the stem II verbal noun (taflun) of the triliteral rootk-b-

    r"great".

This phrase is sometime translated as Allah is Great, sometimes it is translated as Allah is

    Greatest.

But scholars mention that the more literal, the closest meaning is Allah is Greater.

Now when you hear Allah is greater is this a complete sentence or incomplete?

The answer is that this is an incomplete sentence. So what is the connection to it in

    regards to salah.

Scholars mention that after we have made wudu, facing the qibla, and making intention

then we being the salah with Allah is Greater.

Meaning Allah is greater than is anything would come to mind.

So when we cast our hand up and behind us, then we are casting everything away, and

putting Allah Tala presences in-front of us. So we pray as-if we see Allah and even

though we cannot Allah then we bring to mind Allah can see us.

We internalize that Allah is Greater than anything in our lives:1. our family,

    2. our job,

    3. our money,

    4. our health,

    5. our food,

    6. whatever comes to mind Allah is Greater than that.

And in the Quraan Allah Tala tells in Surat Zumar, Surah 39 ayah 67:

They made not a just estimate, a just appraisal, just assestment of Allaah such is due toHim.And on the Day of Resurrection the whole of the earth will be grasped by His Hand,

and the heavens will be rolled up in His Right Hand. Glorified is He, and High is He

above all that they associate as partners with Him! (Az-Zumar, ayah 67)(source http://salaf-us-saalih.com/2012/10/24/the-meaning-of-allaahu-akbar/)

So again brothers and sisters in Islam, have I and you given the true estimate, appraisal,

assessment of the greatness of Allah. Is it not a lie when we in our tongues Allah isGreater but in our minds and hearts we think about our money, our power, our house, our

food, our kids, our spouse.etc. May Allah Tala help us to stop lying to ourselves and

think about these useless thing compared to the greatness, and Majesty of Allah.

    Meaning of Ruku

    Rukoo (Bowing) Subhaana Rabbiy al-ADheem

Subhaan comes from the root word Sa-ba-ha = it Floated.

Anything which is constantly Floating or Gliding.

Meaning: something which does not sink or fall but keeps in its high position.

This is why Allah says; Subhaan Allah about Himself when the disbelievers slander Him

(i.e. by accusing Him of having a son, or daughters etc.)

Subh = Perfection, Gliding/floating above all falsehood and evil.

    Subh-AAN = ABUNDANT/LOADS of Perfection.

So by saying; Subhaana Rabbiy = Abundant Perfection (to)Rabb-IY ( ) [MY Master].

The Meaning related to RUKOO (bowing)-

By bowing to Allah, we are standing in a position which is lower than our normal standing

position - which means we are not in a state of perfection and balance anduprightness (a hint of the implication of subh).

Yet we are bowing to One who is ALWAYS Subhaanah (Perfect/Above ALL).

    http://salaf-us-saalih.com/2012/10/24/the-meaning-of-allaahu-akbar/http://salaf-us-saalih.com/2012/10/24/the-meaning-of-allaahu-akbar/

GEM: This is why we are praising Allah as subhaana Rabbiy(perfectly upright is my Master), showing that we are humbling ourselves to HisPerfection, by Lowering ourselves from our normal Upright (subh) position.

    al-ADheem ( ) from the word;

    ADhm ( ) = Bone.

The Bone is strong and firm and has all descriptions of being the Strength andstructure of the body. Even in the building for example the skeleton or frame iswhat holds everything together.

So Allah is the ADheem = Strong, Firm, Powerful.aDhEEm (the letter Ya after the 2nd Root Letter signifies Constant) =CONSTANTLYstrong, firm, powerful.

Subhaana Rabbiy al-ADheem-Perfect is my Master, the Constantly Strong, Firmand Powerful.

RUKOO (bowing) We praise Allah as al-ADheem the Firm, Powerful, and weknow that the ADhm (Bone) is Stable.

So Allah is al-ADheem constantly Stable/firm/powerful.

Now Abdul Nasir Jangda mentioned in his tafseer (i think surah Haqqah 69:52)that when we doRukoo [bowing] to Allah we are in one of the most Non-Stablepositions. So thateven if a really strong man was in Rukoo (bowing) position, and a child ran pasthim and accidentally pushed him this man would probably fall or lose stability.Showing that humans are not Constantly stable.

GEM: So by bowing to Allah in Rukoo we are admitting our Weakness and

Instability (Lack of Stability/strength/firmness) to our Master Allah, al-ADheem (the

    Constantly Firm/Stable/Strong.).

= Strong stable solid. So with Allah Tala it refers to his strength, stability and

solidness. With regards to the position that we say this, it is the most unbalanced, awkward,

vulnerable position we say to Allah to that He is the most strong, solid, firm, the supreme.

    Sajdah

Sajdah (Prostration)Subhaana Rabbiy al-Ala:Subhaana = Abundant Perfection and Constant Highness is given to Allah as praise when we are

in the lowest position in our prayer.

So we praise His highness when we are low position which is not normal for humans to be in,

except when in a state of total submission, dependence and weakness.

So we admit our weakness and dependence to Allah by lowering ourselves in a position which

everyone (Muslim or non-Muslim) recognizes as submission.

So every single meaning that is associated with this word of Majesty and Greatness is

something that is affirmed and established for Allaah, Azza wa Jall (The Mighty and

    Majestic).

No son (or offspring) did Allaah beget, nor is there any ilh (god) along with Him. (If

there had been many gods), then each god would have taken away what he had created,

and some would have tried to overcome others! Glorified be Allaah [Subhaan Allaah]

above all that they attribute to Him! [al-Muminoon 23:91]

And they have invented a kinship between Him and the jinn, but the jinn know well that

they have indeed to appear (before Him) (i.e. they will be called to account). Glorified be

Allaah [Subhaan Allaah]! (He is free) from what they attribute unto Him! [al-Saffaat37:158-159]

He is Allaah, beside Whom Laa ilaaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped

but He), the King, the Holy, the One Free from all defects, the Giver of security, theWatcher over His creatures, the All-Mighty, the Compeller, the Supreme. Glory be to

Allaah! (High is He) above all that they associate as partners with Him [al-Hashr 59:23]

It also appears in the report narrated by Imam Ahmad in al-Musnad (5384) fromHudhayfah (may Allaah be pleased with him), describing the recitation of the Prophet

(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) in the night prayer. He said: When he

came to a verse which spoke of Allaah being above any fault or defect, he saidSubhaan Allaah. Classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami (4782) and bythe editors of al-Musnad.

Imam al-Tabaraani narrated in his book al-Duaa a number of reports explaining this

meaning of this word, which he compiled in a chapter entitled Tafseer al-Tasbeeh(explanation of the phrase Subhaan Allaah) (p. 498-500). It was narrated from Ibn

Abbaas (may Allaah be pleased with him):

Subhaan Allaah means declaring Allaah to be above every bad thing.Al-Tabaraani said: al-Fadl ibn al-Habbaab told us: I heard Ibn Aaishah say:

When the Arabs find something objectionable and regard it as very serius, they say

Subhaan. It is as if it is declaring Allaah to be above every bad thing that it isinappropriate to attribute to Him.

Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (may Allaah have mercy on him) said:

The command to glorify Him (by saying Subhaan Allaah) also implies declaring Him to

be above every fault and shortcoming, and affirming the attributes of perfection for Him.

Tasbeeh implies declaring Him to be above any fault and venerating Him, and venerationimplies affirming praiseworthy attributes for which He is praised, and that implies

declaring Him to be above any faults, praising Him, magnifying Him and affirming His

    Oneness. Majmoo al-Fataawa 16/125

My brothers and sisters in Islam Allah the Blessed, the Merciful, the Majestic has

    declared in the Qurran in

  • 7/29/2019 K-Gems of Salah (Islamic Prayer) Takbir Ruku and Sajdah

    K-Gems of Salah 10 of 23

" For 1 Muslim men and women, - for 2 believing men and women, for 3 devout men and

women, for 4 true men and women, for men and women who are 5 patient and constant,

for men and women who are 6 'Khaashi'in and Khaashi'at' (those who humble

themselves), for men and women who give in 7 charity, for men and women who 8 fast,

for men and women who guard their 9 chastity, and for men and women who engage

much in Allah's 10 remembrance, - for them has Allah prepared forgiveness and great

    reward." [Qurran Surat Al-Ahzaab 33:35]

So here in this ayah Allah Subhana wa ala gives 10 qualities, that if both men and women

strive to attain and they will Inshallah be amongst those whom Allah has promised

forgiveness and the a great reward of Jannah.

So I want to spend the few minutes we have here to I want to talk about the 6 th quality

that is mentioned in the ayah, namely I want to talk about importance of khushoo in our

    Salah.

Let us first start with defining what Khushoo is. Khushoo is a sense of calmness,

serenity, tranquility, dignity, submissiveness, and humility before Allah Tala the King of

the Universe in the Salah. Allah has mentioned khushoo as first quality in defining

    the believers, Allah declares Surat-Al-Mumenon ayah 1 & 2:

Successful indeed are the believers, Those whose offer their Salah with khusoo

    K-Gems of Salah 11 of 23

Now lets talk about briefly what our salah have become nowadays where khushoo is by

in large missing from many of our salah. The lack of khusoo in the salah has led to a

    phenomenon where our salah

    1. has turned into a mild aerobic exercise for our bodies,

    2. a parroting session of the Quran for tongues,

    3. a time for our minds to think about what are we going to eat next, the bills to pay for

next month, where to go this weekend, the time we spent in our friends house, our next

exam in class, etc, etc, etc. The point being we think about everything except our salah.

In fact because of this mindlessness in our salah we take only 3 thinks from the salah,

namely the takbeer-at ihram, and two salams at the end of the salah. In between that

Allah Tala alim as far anything related to concentrating on quran, feeling that we are in a

meeting with Allah, reflecting on the Grandeaur of Allah and the minutness of us. Again

we think of everything but the salah.

We think about everything, but the Quran we are reciting, we thing about everything but

fact that we are standing and pleading with the King of the Universe, Allah, Allah who

has no support, no helper, no sustainer. And whose support, help, and sustenance we

    cannot survive.

The bottom line is many times our salah become parroting sessions, where we peck

up and down, and race to get back to our worldly affairs.

    12/23

    K-Gems of Salah 12 of 23

So those are problems of not having khushoo in our salah, now the question comes what

is the solution. How can we cure ourselves of these diseases?

    How can we attain khushoo

Well Allah the almighty says in Surat-Al-Ahzab (33:21) the following:

Indeed in the Messenger of Allh (Muhammad SAW) you have a good example to

follow for him who hopes in (the Meeting with) Allh and the Last Day and

    remembers Allh much.

So taking from the example of the Prophet (SAW) the scholars have extracted the

following components to Bi-Biidnillah achieve Khushoo in the Salah:

    PRAY WITH EHSAN:

Umar ibn Khattab (Allah be pleased with him) narrated:

``As we sat one day with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings

upon him), a man with pure white clothing and jet black hair came to us,

without a trace of traveling upon him, though none of us knew him. He

sat down before the Prophet (pbuh) bracing his knees against his, and

resting his hands on his legs, said:

`Muhammad, tell me about Islam.' The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said:

`Islam is to testify there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the

Messenger of Allah, and to perform the prayer, give zakat, fast in

Ramadan, and perform the pilgrimage to the House if you can find a

way.' He said: `You have spoken the truth,' and we were surprised that

he should ask and then confirm the answer. Then he said: `Tell me

about true faith (iman), ' and the Prophet answered: `It is to believe in

Allah, His angels, His inspired Books, His messengers, the Last Day,

and in destiny, its good and evil.'' You have spoken the truth,' he said,

`Now tell me about the perfection of faith (ihsan), ' and the Prophet

answered: `It is to worship Allah as if you see Him, and if you see Him

not, He nevertheless sees you.' `Tell me of the Hour,' said the visitor,

and he was told: `The one questioned knows no more about it than the

questioner.' 'Then tell me of its portents,' he said, and the Prophet

replied: 'That the slave woman shall give birth to her mistress, and that

you shall see barefoot, naked, penniless shepherds vying in

constructing high buildings.' Then the visitor left. I waited a while, and

the Prophet said to me, `Do you know, `Umar, who was the questioner?'

and I replied, `Allah and His messenger know best.' He said, `It was

Angel Gabriel (the Angel), who came to you to teach you your religion ' ''

    (Sahih Muslim (y-92), 1.37-38).

Can anyone imagine if one actually could see his Lord in front of him? Surely, his

prayers will be more focused, full ofhumbleness, and submissiveness. And his

heart would be full of fear, hope and love for his Lord. If he cannot imagine that he

sees his Lord in front of him, then know for a FACT Allah sees everyone without

doubt, this should at least motivate us to do better. Allah Taala says:

" Truly, Allh is with those who are muhsinnoon

    (Qurran Nahl 16: 128)

Abu Hurairah reported: The Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him)

said: If anyone observes prayer in which he does not recite Umm al-

Qurran, It is deficient [he said this three times] and not complete. It was

said to Abu Hurairah: At times we are behind the Imam. He said: Recite

it inwardly; for he had heard the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon

him) declare that Allah the Exalted had said: I have divided the prayer

into two halves between My servant, and Me. And My servant will

receive what he asks. When the servant says: Praise be to Allah, the Lord

of the universe, Allah the Most High says: My servant has praised Me.

And when he (the servant) says: The Most Compassionate, the Merciful,

and Allah the Most High says: My servant has lauded Me. And when he

(the servant) says: Master of the Day of Judgment, He remarks: My

servant has glorified Me. and sometimes He would say: My servant

entrusted (his affairs) to Me. And when he (the worshipper) says: Thee

do we worship and of Thee do we ask help, He (Allah) says: This is

between My servant, and Me. And My servant will receive what he

asks for. Then, when he (the worshipper) says: Guide us to the straight

path, the path of those to whom Thou hast been Gracious not of those who

have incurred Thy displeasure, nor of those who have gone astray, He

(Allah) says: This is for My servant, and My servant will receive what

he asks for (Related by Muslim)

    MOVE IN A MEASURED PACE:

The second action we can do to improve the Khushoo of our Salah is

perform it at a measured and calculated pace. In other words Salah is

not an exercise or a race. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be

upon him) used to move at a measured pace during Salah, allowing every

bone to return to its place. He (PBUH) commanded those who were not

doing their prayer properly to do this too.

He said, None of you has prayed properly until he does this. (Reported

    by Abu Dawud, no. 858).

Ruku Sajad and Sitting Same Duration

Al-Bara' ibn Azib, RA, reported: The bowing, the prostration, the sitting in

between the two prostrations and standing after the bowing of the Prophet

(PBUH), excluding Qiyam(which is when we read Fatiha and Qurran)

and Jalsah(which is when we read Tashahhud), used to be approximately

    equal (in duration)." (Bukhari)

    Worse thief steals from salah

Abu Qutaadah (may Allahbe pleased with him) said: The Prophet (peace and

blessings of Allah be upon him) said: The worst type of thief is the one who

steals from his prayer. He said, O Messenger of Allah, how can a person steal

from his prayer? He said, By not doing rukoo and sujood properly, and does not

have Khushoo'." (Reported by Ahmad and al-Haakim; Saheeh al-Jaami of

    Albani, no. 986).

    RECITING THE QURRAN IN TARTEEL:

This is related to moving at measured pace, but specifically it relates to reciting

the Qurran in a slow measured, and rhythmic paces. Ibn al-Mubarak quotes in

Az-Zuhd a hadith narrated by Imam Abu Dawud and Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal

with a Sahih isnaad that Rasulullah (Sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam) used to recite

the Qurran in slow, measured rhythmic tones as Allah had instructed him, not be

racing or hurrying; rather, his was "a recitation clearly- distinguishing each

    letter"

Imaam Ahmad quotes in his Musnad as sahih hadith that Rasulullah (Sallallaahu

'alaihi wa sallam) saidStudy the Book of Allah; recite it repeatedly; acquire

(memorize) it; and recite it in a melodious tone, for by Him in whose Hand is

my soul, it runs away quicker than camels from their tying ropes [Imaam

Ahmad and Daarimi with a sahih isnaad.]

And Allah the Almighty has commanded in the Qurran:

Or a little more; and recite the Qur'n (aloud) in a slow, (pleasant tone and)

    style (73:4)

    1. Learn, comprehend and implement the Qurran that is recited in prayer: This

is for both the Arab and non-Arab speaking. The Qurran was revealed to be

    pondered over. Allah says:

(This is) a Book (the Qurran) which We have sent down to you, full of blessings

that they may ponder over its Verses, and that men of understanding may remember.

    [Saad 38:29].

No one can ponder over its verses unless he has some knowledge of the meaning of

what he is reciting, so that he can think about it and be moved to tears by it.

Allah (Mighty and Glorious is He) also says:

And those who, when they are reminded of the Aayaat (proofs, evidences, verses,

lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) of their Lord, fall not deaf and blind thereof. [al-

Furqaan 25:73]. Thus the importance of studying Tafseer (Quraanic commentary) is

    quite clear.

REMEMBERING DEATH & THE DAY OF JUDGMENT

    DURING THE PRAYERS

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Remember

death in your prayer, for the man who remembers death during his prayer

is bound to pray properly, and pray the prayer of a man who does not think

that he will pray any other prayer. (al-Silsilat al-Saheehah by al-Albaani,

1421. It was reported from al-Suyooti that al-Haafiz ibn Hajar classed this

    Hadith as has an).

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) also advised Abu

Ayyoob (may Allah be pleased with him): When you stand up to pray, pray a

farewell prayer. (Reported by Ahmad, Ibn Maajah, Saheeh al-Jaami of Albani,

no. 742)meaning the prayer of one who thinks that he will not pray another

prayer. The person who is praying will no doubt die, and there is some prayer that

will be his last prayer, so let him have Khushoo in the prayer that he is doing, for

he does not know whether this will be his last prayer.

    PRAY IN CONGREGATION:

    Allah Subhaanahu wa Ta'aala commands

And perform Salah, give Zakah, and bow with those that bow 2/43

Now some think that only involves the Masjid, but if it is not possible to reach the

Masjid, then we can pray together in our homes with our family members, and

friends, and a work we can organize congregational prayer with fellow Muslim. Let

us remember that the Prophet [s] said, "The Salah in congregation is twenty

seven times superior in degrees to the Salah offered by a person alone." [in some

    ahadith twentyseven] [bukhari vol. 1 h # 646]

Seeking Refuge in Allah from the Shaytaan. The Prophet (peace and blessings

of Allah be upon him) taught us the following methods of combating the whispers

    of Shaytaan.

Abu'l-Aas (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that he said, "O Messenger

of Allah, the Shaytaan interrupts me when I pray, and I get confused in my

Recitation." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)

Said, "That is a Shaytaan whose name is Khanzab. If you sense his presence, seek

refuge with Allah from him, and spit [dry spitting] towards your left three

times." Abu'l-Aas said: "I did that and Allah took him away from me."

    (Reported by Muslim, no. 2203)

    END OF PART I

May Allah grace you and us with the blessings of the grand Qurran, and may it benefit

us and you with the verses and with wise commemoration, for He the Almighty is

Generous, Noble, Sovereign, Benign, Compassionate, and Merciful.

    PART II

So to recap my brothers and sisters in Islam in order to achieve Khushoo in our

    Salah let us Biidnillah:

    1. PRAY WITH EHSAN:

    2. MOVE IN A MEASURED PACE:

    3. RECITING THE QURRAN IN TARTEEL:

    4. LEARN, COMPREHEND AND IMPLEMENT THE QURRAN THAT IS

    RECITED IN PRAYER:

    5. REMEMBER DEATH & THE DAY OF JUDGMENT DURING THE

    PRAYERS

    6. PRAY IN CONGREGATION

    7. SEEK REFUGE WITH ALLAH FROM THE SHAYTAAN

Khushoo is a serious, major issue, which is impossible to achieve without thehelp of Allaah. Being deprived of khushoo is nothing short of a calamity.

Hence the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to say in

his duaa: Allaahumma innee aoodhu bika min qalbin laa yakhsha (OAllaah, I seek refuge with You from a heart that has no khushoo). (Reportedby al-Tirmidhi, 5/485, no. 3482; Saheeh Sunan al-Tirmidhi, 2769).

    Levels of Salah

So let me end with a metric, a measure that Ibn Qayuum has informed us aboutwith regards to the level of khushoo in the Salah:

    Ibn Qayuum says:

When it comes to prayer, people are of five levels:

    22/23

    K-Gems of Salah 22 of 23

    1. The first is the level of the one who wrongs himself and is negligent. He doesnot do wudoo properly, or pray at the right time or make sure he does all the

    necessary parts of prayer.

    2. The second is one who observes the outward essentials of prayer, prays on

time and does wudoo, but he has lost the battle against his own self and isoverwhelmed with waswaas.

    3. The third is one who observes the outward essentials of prayer, prays on timeand does wudoo, and also strives against his own self and against waswaas,

but he is preoccupied with his struggle against his enemy (i.e. the Shaytaan),

lest he steal from his prayer, so he is engaged in salaah and jihaad at the same

    time.

    4. The fourth is one who when he stands up to pray, he fulfils all the requirements of the

prayer, and his heart is fully focused and alert lest he omit anything, and his concern is todo the prayer properly and perfectly. His heart is deeply immersed in his prayer andworship of his Lord.

    5. The fifth is one who does all of that, but he takes his heart and places it before hisLord, looking at his Lord with his heart and focusing on Him, filled with love andadoration, as if he is actually seeing Him. That waswaas and those thoughtsdiminish, and the barriers between him and his Lord are lifted. The differencebetween the prayer of this person and the prayer of anyone is else is greater thanthe difference between heaven and earth. When this person prays, he is preoccupiedwith his Lord and content with Him.

The first type is punishable; the second is accountable; the third is striving so

he is not counted as a sinner; the fourth is rewarded and the fifth is drawn

close to his Lord, because he is one of those for whom prayer is a source of

joy. Whoever finds their joy in prayer in this life, will find their joy in being

close to Allah in the Hereafter, and will also find his joy in Allah in this world.

Whoever finds his joy in Allah will be content with everything, and whoever

does not find his joy in Allah, will be destroyed by his feelings of grief and

    regret for worldly matters."

    23/23

We ask Allah to send His peace blessings, mercy on Muhammad ibn Abudullah (SAW)

and on his family, companions, helpers, and those who follow him.

We seek refuge in Allah from incompetence, laziness, cowardice, miserliness,

from knowledge that does not benefit, from hearts that do not fear (Allah), from a

soul that is not content and a dua that is not answered.

We ask Allah to make us from amongst those that are thankful, mindful of Him,

devoted to obedience to Him and constantly in repentance to Him.

We ask Allah to save us from the punishment of the grave, the punishment of the

day of Judgment and the punishment of the Hell-Fire and we ask Him to reward

    us with Jannah.
