BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL CARE
The spots are filling up quickly. If you have not already put
through an expression of interest please ensure you let the
school know. Kemblawarra PS families will have preference
when filling the spots. The program is available from preschool
through to year 6 students that attend KPS.
BRINGING IN BIRTHDAY CAKES
As a school community we are unable to monitor the handing out of cake within individual classrooms. It is a very special day for your child and often parents like to bring in cakes to share with classmates. However, we would ask that cakes were not brought into the school and that an alternative like a fruit platter to support healthy eating was chosen. We also have a number of students with dietary needs and cakes and sugary foods don't support these requirements.
K-2 ASSEMBLY
Our K-2 Assembly is this Friday, 22nd commencing at 9.10am.
Parents will be receiving letters to let them know their child is
receiving an award. All parents/carers are welcome to attend our
assemblies.
UNIFORM SHOP
We encourage parents and carers to purchase uniforms at the
office each morning before 9am as this is when we have suffi-
cient staff available to assist you. However purchases can be
made throughout the day if required.
TEACHERS ARE LEARNERS TOO During Week 4, three teachers either continued or began their L3 training. Mrs Gjorseska supported the teachers for the day, Mrs Petsas and Mrs Mineeff con-tinued their training for the second or third year and Mrs Josevski started her L3 training journey.
POSITIVE BEHAVIOUR FOR LEARNING
Our focus area for the next two weeks in classroom discussions, circle time and in outdoor areas is 'Safety'. Students will discuss amongst their classes what this looks like in the different areas of the school and what we can do to build a safer school community.
RARE DISEASE DAY
Rare Disease Day takes place on Thursday 28 February. Rare Disease Day’s main objective is to raise awareness about rare diseases and the impacts they have on patients’ lives.
This year we will be raising awareness by having a colourful mufti day. To participate in the mufti day, we ask you to donate a gold coin. During lunch there will be an opportunity for students to purchase an ice block for 50c. If you wish your child to purchase one please send them to school with the money on the day.
All proceeds raised will go to the ‘Saving Chloe Saxby Campaign’. Chloe Saxby is a local school girl from Woonona who has an extremely rare, genetic, degenerative terminal disease called Vanishing White Matter Disease (VWM).
Please ensure that your child wears appropriate clothing and foot wear (no singlets, open shoes and ap-propriate length shorts/skirts/pants).
WHAT’S HAPPENING AT KPS
INTERRELATE INFORMATION NIGHT
Interrelate’s high-quality Sexuality and Relationship Education program is coming to our school!
With over 90 years’ experience in this field, Interrelate has a reputation for providing excellence in sexuali-ty and relationship education. Today, over 40,000 students and family members participate in Interrelate School and Family programs each year.
Many parents find it hard to discuss questions relating to sexuality education. We know how to help break the ice. Interrelate programs are interactive and family focused, and are conducted by highly trained and experienced educators, who adhere to a strict code of ethics.
