Faith is the realization of what is hoped for

And evidence of things not seen. (Hebrews 11.1)

One of the things I have observed in my years of priestly ministry is the power of faith to make mira-cles happen in people’s lives. I’ve seen people emerge triumphant from times of great suffering, by faith. I have watched couples be steadfast in their commitments, by faith, even when it wasn’t pleasant, so that they could enjoy the fruits of “hanging in there.” I’ve seen the power of faith guide people to new homes, new jobs, new coun-tries, new cultures……I have watched how peo-ple, by faith, become “new creations.” By faith we become a more perfect image of Christ for one another, and as Rex Hudler says, “It’s a beautiful thing!” This mystery of faith of which the Letter to the Hebrews speaks is more like a verb than a noun. Faith is something we do more than some-thing we possess. May our faith be active and hopeful today! Father Mark Mertes, Pastor

Tener fe es tener la plena seguridad de recibir lo que se espera;

Padre Mark Mertes

If your student was on last year’s list, please con-firm or update their address to receive this year’s mailings. Based on donations for postage, we hope to mail care packages in October, Decem-ber, February and April. Please pray for all college students as they prepare for the new school year!
