Foreword by your candidate It is clear that we are all fed up by politics in general at the moment,

with our current PM having the lowest poll rating that any other leader has had in this nation for decades; yet what is the alternative? The general population both seems to hate the incumbent but not want to elect the elitist leader of the opposition, as demonstrated by the fact that there is no party with an outright majority in the polls.

What Justicia wants to offer you is a real alternative to the “unholy trinity” of the Labour, Conservative and Liberal Democrat parties, and a fresh start, that is fair to all. Our party is not just about politics but about the people, and we want to completely recalibrate the focus of the system towards you.

I, John Grocott, will be standing to be elected in the local constituency of the Norton Knatchbull School, and I can tell you that we would bring in real change for you. There are three things I can promise you.

Everyone knows that students work differently to the rest of the human population. Students can’t help it if their minds are at the peak of their activity towards the end of the day, and inactive in the early hours of the morning, until they reach double figures; for this reason we shall push school starting times forward to 10 o’clock. Justicia’s first promise to you is to ensure your welfare.

Money makes the world go round, as they say, and I know what it feels like to have to survive socially with only £2.53 left in the bank account. So I ask you this, what kind of government would want to increase taxes at a time when we are all feeling a little short on change? We plan to scrap those things which are not needed for this nation, without reducing your services or their quality, for example: we will stop the introduction of the ID Cards; we will review our nuclear defence budget and make savings by supporting the new EU nuclear defence scheme; we will cut bureaucracy and reduce admin staff. Our second promise to you is to make your economic wellbeing a top priority at this time of uncertainty.

But my third promise is regarding style and quality. The political system has been tarnished recently, with our ranking of the quality of our politicians considerably dropping. These people don’t care about you, they don’t care about your local issues, our local issues; politicians are a corrupt bunch of phonies. Justicia, as the name implies, is about delivering justice, fairness and honesty, and that is what we shall bring to politics. My promise to everybody is to deliver political reform.

Our Policies

Education School days start at ten (although when approaching exams teachers

may still require pupils to come in for extra lessons) o This is because the teenage body clock works differently and

later than the rest of the population. SATS and CATS tests for all years to be scrapped. Maintain Grammar School system. Improve teaching quality by making it mandatory for all secondary

teachers to have a masters degree in their subject o This along with a looser national curriculum (with Sweden only

having 16 pages instead of our 600), would enable teachers to be more creative.

Primary and Secondary School teachers to have separate qualifications. Training for Primary teaching to take an extra year, so that in total both Primary and Secondary School teachers study for 5 years (Secondary 3+1+1, and Primary 3+2). o Long-term considerable pay increase for teachers.

Primary school to start at the age of 6, with current primary classrooms to be converted into free nursery classes, whilst £30 weekly vouchers to be provided for private nursery provision. o There is no need to regiment children from an early age, with it

being far more important that they develop their imagination, creativity and social skills; i.e. that they have fun.

Foreign and Immigration

Asylum seekers to be allowed to work. At the moment even if they work with the system they cannot legally work, which means that they have to claim benefits and use council houses.

Integration into the Euro is currently not a policy, as there are deep flaws within the system, which the problems of Greece and Italy are exposing – we cannot risk our economy to be destabilised by other countries’ fiscal irresponsibility.

It is important to keep Turkey onside, as a secular, pro-western, moderate Muslim country. To encourage movement towards EU integration it is important to get Turkey to resolve its conflicts with Greece and over Cyprus.

Opt out from o European convention on human rights, so that second picket

lines may remain illegal. o The European Working Time Directive, so that we may not be

limited in our working times – we aren’t lazy and we aren’t French.

Afghanistan: o Integrate better with the Afghan National Army, so that we can

both make sure that their soldiers are properly trained and disciplined, and so that any future withdrawal may be less noticeable.

o Ensure proper equipment is provided o Encourage more support from other NATO countries,

especially on the front lines. o An amnesty in 2011 on poppies - we will buy them to make

morphine – thereafter they will be confiscated. Alternate crops encouraged by subsidies of the seeds, fertilisers and equipment.

Heavier sanctions on Iran and North Korea and any company that deals with them.

Get more anti-Iranian support from other Muslim nations.

Review trident nuclear system and reduce costs by supporting the new EU nuclear defence initiative.

Economy Reduce budget deficit by:

o Change benefit legislation so long term unemployed do not receive benefits (two years being the limit.) However this does include a caveat for the mentally and

physically disabled and parents o Increase and maintain higher standards of regulation of the

benefit system and with harsher penalties for abusers. o Reduce and review farming subsidies. (Subsidies cause famine

in Africa by putting local famers out of business by providing a cheaper alternative of food.)

o Review trident nuclear system and reduce costs by supporting the new EU nuclear defence initiative.

o Scrap introduction of ID cards. Real cuts to be introduced after 18 months of constant

growth.

Green tax initiatives

o Tax incentives for green energy production for private households and for industries.

o Taxing sources of dirty energy more heavily, especially those involving the use of coal.

o Tax aviation per plane not per passengers – an empty plane will emit as much carbon dioxide as a full one, this will discourage waste.

Electoral Reform Scrap current system of expenses and introduce a parliamentary

attendance allowance such as other foreign parliaments have (similar to the allowance companies give London employees)

Make the House of Lords an elected body with a separate peerage system existing so current peers may keep their titles. The elections will be carried out using proportional representation, with one seat per 100,000 votes.

Justice System and Policing

Harsher penalties for violent criminals. Tougher sentences for re-offenders. Reoffending violent criminals will not be offered bail. Criminals must face their victims to confront the impact they have on

people’s lives so they may be more likely to reform. More of an emphasis on reform while criminals serve their sentences More community service for petty crimes with less people that

commit such offences being sent to prison. Hardened criminals must not be mixed with petty criminals in

prisons as they become hardened themselves. Reduce recruitment of community support offices as their limited

powers make them ineffective. Spend revenue on full time police officers.

Reduce bureaucracy within the policing system. o Minimum quota of twenty hours a week on the street for

uniformed officers. Microwave blockers to render mobile phones useless

within prisons – wardens use different frequency radio transmitters.

Decriminalisation of drugs. Not the same as legalisation, it just prevents the addict becoming a criminal, whilst still dealing with dealers.

o Possession of a limited amount of drugs for personal purposes. o In actual fact this reduces drug consumption as addicts feel

more comfortable to admit that they have a problem – see Portugal. In Portugal drugs were decriminalised in 2001; since

then illegal drug consumption has declined particularly amongst teenagers, HIV infection amongst the drug users has dropped and deaths related to heroin and other similar drugs has more than halved - in the same period those seeking treatment has doubled. “Individuals found in possession of small quantities of drugs are issued summons. The drugs are confiscated, and the suspect is interviewed by a dissuasion commission including a civil servant, a psychiatrist, and an attorney. Based on the patterns of drug use, the individual may be subject to fines, therapy, or probation.” Wikipedia

Devolution of Power Local councils to have more spending powers. Teachers to have more control of curriculum. Cut number of administrators in NHS but more power given to trusts

whilst making sure they are well regulated. Devolve power to Afghan troops by integrating British troops into the

army so eventual withdrawal will be more gradual.
