A fairytale marriage in a castlewas the dream of Rachel andRichard. Their chance meetingcame about through mutualfriends nearly five years ago ina night club in Tunbridge Wellsand it was love at first sight.Business came in the way ofnaming the day but their planswere being kindled and at last on 1st June last year the couplewere married at Wadhurst Castle in East Sussex.

The Bride’s DressThe bride’s mother, with three daughters,knew
their weddings would be expensive and decided tolearn about dressmaking, cakes and flowers.Armed with this knowledge they set aboutplanning the event. Rachel decided on a modelfrom Christina K in Maidstone.The style was atraditional line off-the-shoulder, fitted bodice withlayers fanning out from a hoop below the waist,‘like a Spanish dancer’. “Wrapped in silk”,commented her fitter admiringly.The dress wasset off by a short train. For Something borrowed...Something blue..Rachel wore a lace garter andsported a small discreet blue bow.The Groom’s Attire
Richard, decided on a formal look with darkgrey suit and cream waist coat.This was toppedwith a silvery grey cravat, complementing thebridesmaids dresses chosen from Monsoon. Hisfather, the best man and Richard’s brother andushers wore cream cravats and pink rosebuttonholes with their suits.The Cake
Rachel’s mother concentrated on the weddingcake and produced a three-tiered square cake with
sugar-paste pink roses at the corners and topped with a spray of flowers made from thesame material.Floral Arrangements
Rachel wanted pink roses but to stand out theyshould be in tall glass vases, and Roz, a friend ofthe family looked after the arrangements,including the bridesmaids posies, buttonholes andbride’s headress.The Venue
Wadhurst Castle offered three rooms for theceremony and celebrations. “What made it sospecial was that Wadhurst is a family home andwe felt privileged to be there”, expressed Rachel.“It is a home used for functions”.They wereoffered the Montcrieff Room for the celebrationswhich was decorated with pink roses as Rachelhad desired, upstairs a further room was set asidefor final preparations.The day was perfect withstrong sunshine, “and we were able to make use ofthe lovely gardens” she added.Celebrations
While the guests were arriving Rachel and herentourage were busy with last minute details forthe ceremony at noon in the Winter Garden.

Family and friends numbered 37, who also satdown to the Wedding Breakfast at 2pm. Betweenthese Pimms was served and again before theevening function when other friends joined thecelebrations.They had invited long time friendsalong with new companions and future friends.Photography
The photographers, Alex and Marcela Whittle,both discreetly took pictures throughout the day.It was agreed by all that the results reflected theday perfectly, showing the formal ceremony alongwith the lead-up and celebrations.To ensure thatno one was left out of the photographs Alex hadset aside an area as a photo studio.Catering
All the catering was carried out by Jude atCreative Caterers in Tonbridge. Rachelcomplemented the settings by designing andmaking the table places along with the invitations.Music
Music accompanied each part of the event withRichard’s friend Raph, who played the classical
guitar for the ceremony while later local musician,Noel Bannister played the keyboard. A DJencouraged guests to choose their favourite songs,with the music set to videos to match, whichformed an excellent finale to what had been amagical day.The Honeymoon
Having said their farewells to their guestsRachel and Richard stayed overnight at theRamada Jarvis Hotel at Pembury. On the followingday the couple set of on their honeymoon to asecluded boutique hotel in Ibeza.

They had chosen the ring together some timebeforehand, but it needed to be made, so Hannahwas totally unaware that it was ready.The couplewere deeply in love and so there could only beone answer - “Yes”, she responded with delight.
House with a viewIt had not been chance that found them on
those downs, as Hannah explained. “We hadfound the perfect house in the perfect location,overlooking the Thames Estuary. In fact thepainter JMW Turner had used the spot forseveral of his masterpieces. So walks like thatare part of our routine”.
On a bright sunny day inAugust 2008, Hannahand Matt were taking awalk across the Downsnear Canterbury.As if onimpulse Matt stoppedand pointed to a giantacorn on the path, andHannah stooped to pickit up. On inspection itopened and inside lay athree diamondengagement ring in whitegold.When Hannahrecovered her composureand looked up, she sawMatt on his knees. “Willyou marry me and be mywife?” he asked.

Their home with itsbeautiful view was thesetting for theirwedding breakfast afterthe ceremony at 1pm
on 11th July 2009 at the 15th century church ofSt Mary in the picturesque village of Chilhamon the Pilgrims Way.
A great vintageThe bride wore a vintage-style gown by Ian
Stuart called Sancerre from Jodi in Canterburyalong with her shoes, while on her hair Hannahwore a spray of flowers. A flower motif was alsowoven into the dress. In the traditional way shewore a vintage watch, borrowed from her mother,a blue garter, while her father gave her away andthe dress was new. Coming from a large familyHannah enjoyed being attended by ninebridesmaids, who wore dresses by ‘Dessy’, alsofrom Jodi. “I think that Louise Forth from 4Dphotos captured the moment in each photographperfectly,” expressed the bride.
The bridegroom dressed in charcoal morningdress with a silver coloured waistcoat and anivory and silver cravat. He was attended by sixushers including his best man. Like theengagement ring Matt placed a band of whitegold on his bride’s wedding finger.
Time to celebrateThe wedding party then moved off to the
celebrations, held in the couple’s lovely garden ina marquee, and sat down to a starter of Palmaham and Mozzarella, followed by a choice of roastlamb or beef, finishing with pavlova.Entertainment followed and a jazz band struck upto encourage guests to celebrate and enjoythemselves.This later followed by a DJ, who hadpreviously taken the role of best man. “Weenjoyed every single moment, and CandlelightCaterers did a wonderful job,” enthused Hannah.“There were lots of children - must have beenaround 30 in all. They were catered forseparately and joined the body of guests for theentertainment”. she added. “We partied untilthe early hours.”
The couple left the following day for theirhoneymoon, first flying to Las Vegas for a week ,and then on to a quiet village in the Algarve forthe remainder of this very special holiday.

The ceremonyThe wedding was held at St Martin of ToursChurch in Eynsford, Kent. The church wasdecorated with a combination of red and ivoryflowers on the front pedestals and handmadeIvory Organza ribbons with small deep redroses attached to each pew.
The celebrationsAfter the ceremony the couple drove to HeverCastle in a 1930’s vintage Rolls Royce andenjoyed a bottle of champagne together as manand wife. The couple had invited 55 friends andfamily to the ceremony who then joinedChristopher and Suzanne for a champagnereception, music lawn games including GiantJenga and Quoits, whilst the couple had theirphotos taken.

Suite Dining Room and a three-course silverservice a la carte meal was enjoyed.
The dinner had a traditional setting and wasfollowed by speeches from the Mother of theBride, Christopher and the two best men.
A toastmaster was also on hand to keepthings going at a steady pace. After the mealanother 60 people joined Christopher andSuzanne for music and dancing and watched asthey cut their wedding cake. The couple sharedtheir first dance whilst dancing to a band calledHullabaloo, who also played at Jamie and JulesOliver’s wedding.

They had known each other for twoyears, when on that anniversary of theirfirst meeting, they went away for a long
weekend, and Phil popped the question. Tinahad her suspicions that he may do so and was“thrilled to bits,”- especially when heunderlined his commitment by offering her asolitaire diamond mounted on a white goldband for the engagement.
Plans and preparationsFor the following year they enthusiasticallymade plans and preparations for the big day -27th June. They had decided to tie the knot atSidcup Registry Office where they had invited50 friends and family to witness their vows.
Tina had chosen a full length off-the-shoulder figure-hugging dress with silverybeaded band. She carried a bouquet made upwith pink gerbera daisies with white roses andlilies, and was attended by four bridesmaids,of whom two were her teenage daughters,wearing fuchsia pink dresses, carrying smallerposies reflecting the colours of the bride.

Phil and his best man wore Prince Edwardsuits, with silver waistcoats and cravats. Duringthe ceremony the groom carefully placed thewedding ring on his new wife’s finger.The ringin white gold was finished with a bright centreband with a brushed finish on either edge.Tinareciprocated by placing a similar ring on Phil’s finger.
Venue settingThe venue for their reception was the villagehall at Farningham, Kent where they celebratedthe day with their guests. The weddingbreakfast took the form of a buffet whereinformality was the key and speeches were keptto a minimum. The cake, a single tier style wasdecorated by Tina. After which a discoencouraged everyone to have a good time.
Relaxed photographyLorraine Smith (All Special MemoriesPhotography) took all the photographs andboth Tina and Phil were delighted with thegentle way she moved among the guests takinginformal and formal photographs, “which wenever tire of browsing through, reminding us ofthe happiest day of our lives,” reflected Tina.
After the wedding the couple spent a fewdays quietly at home enjoying the mini-heatwave at the time. It was Tina’s birthday,on the Sunday following their wedding and theystill had their honeymoon on the Greek islandof Kos to look forward to later that week.

Both had lived in the town since childhoodand Gemma had always liked the church.“I admired the setting, standing as it does
at the end of The Causeway, which is one of themost picturesque streets in Sussex, and which Ivisited regularly when at school”.
High Flying CourtshipSome months beforehand in June 2008 they hadflown across the Atlantic to enjoy a holiday inthe USA. It was here some way above New Yorkwhen Will popped the question while taking asurprise helicopter flight over the city.
Preparations started on their arrival home, andboth went in search of the perfect engagementring, and Gemma would soon sport a platinumband set with a diamond. They began to searchfor a venue. Gemma wanted somewhere whichwould reflect her passion for animals and theoutside life. “The main difficulty”, she observed,“would be to arrange all the events on the sameday at the right time.”
Colour SchemesGemma wore an off-the-shoulder dress in pearl-shaded satin reflecting a sheen: Diamond studearrings and a pearl bracelet completed theensemble. In the evening Gemma wore abespoke tiara arranged with pearls, againreflecting the effect of her dress.
The four bridesmaids, two of who wereGemma’s old school friends, were dressed inknee length emerald green from Coast, andcarried posies of dark pink matching Will’s cravat

and table centre arrangements.Thegreen of the dresses and the leavesof the pink Sweet Avalanche rosesbrought continuity to the venue.
The groom was attended by twobest men along with ushers, and twoproud fathers. All were dressed inmorning suits and wore pink rosesas buttonholes.
Gemma’s wedding ring is a simple platinumband with patterns around both edges, whileWill’s ring, again fashioned in platinum, has amatt finish.
Photography was by Mark (MBM Photography),he was informal, discreet and made sureeveryone was photographed individually and ingroups. “He had a good way with the guests andhelped everyone relax.”
A chauffeur was hired to drive Gemma to thechurch in a family car and the couple left thevenue in their own Porsche Boxter to start theirhoneymoon in Portugal.
For the cake they chose a 3-tiered, chocolatesponge with chocolate curls and roses -”Mmm..”,said Gemma wistfully thinking back, “I reallyenjoyed that part!”.
Parkland VenueHaving looked around at various possible placesto hold the celebrations the couple decided onKnepp Castle just south of Horsham near WestGrinstead. The surrounding parkland is home to
free-ranging animals with herds of longhorncattle, Exmoor ponies, deer and pigs, which havebecome used to such activities.
This venue embraced all their interests, andthey arranged for Two large TePees, joinedtogether, (provided by Beautiful World Tents) inthe parkland of the estate. The catering wasprofessionally prepared and served al frescofrom barbeques on the banks of the nearbyKnepp Lake.
One of the highlights were bowls of softmarshmallows which guests could cook over theflames. The evening’s entertainment wasconducted by a DJ. When replying to theinvitation each guest was asked to quote theirfavourite music and these were playedthroughout the celebrations.

Louisa and Christian grew up in thesame town - South Woodham Ferrers,moved within the same circle of
friends, but did not know each other untilintroduced by a mutual friend in late October2002. By March 2004 they realised they had‘something’ as a couple and Louisa moved in.
Three events happened to them five yearsafter they met, when they moved from theirhome town to Leigh on Sea, and went onholiday to Singapore and Bali. It was in Balithat Christian, who had nursed theengagement ring throughout their, presented itto Louisa, which came as a great surprise, andshe was overjoyed. Christian had quietly foundthe ring himself and had chosen a white goldband with a large centre stone and threegraduated diamonds on either side.
On their return Louisa set herself the taskof finding a venue for their wedding but wasstruggling, until they visited Rye, and TheGeorge Hotel in particular. “Here,” declaredLousa, “was the perfect setting.”
They chose a local florist - Cafe des Fleursin Rye, to arrange all the flowers for the venue,who in turn referred Louisa to Richard Page, aphotographer, of who Louisa said, “weddingphotography was not his only work, and as aphotojournalist he would have a differentview. We felt he would inject originality andquirkiness”.
The setting was complemented by a posy offlower tied to the backs of alternate chairs, anda guitarist - Ben Eve, played to the assemblingguests through the formal photographs and into the evening.
The ceremony was conducted by the Registrarin front of 94 witnesses and Louisa stood withChristian in her chosen gown; made by IanStuart, which “I had fallen in love with”.Thewedding party echoed her sentiments especiallythe males.The dress was in honey taffeta, vintagestyle, and the fitted bodice featured lace with acomplexity of beading and tiny pearls, closing atthe back with a set of buttons.The decoration wascompleted with a corsage of lace flowers on herleft hip. Her wedding band matched theengagement ring in white gold, while the groom

wore a Bulgari white gold engraved band.Louisa was attended by four adult
bridesmaids wearing liquid cream satin,floor length dresses designed by Louisa:The material and colour of which wasreflected in both the best men’s ties.Theywore charcoal grey suits, which were ashade lighter than the groom’s, whose suitwas tailormade by Mangas(www.mangas.co.uk) with matchingwaistcoat, cream tie (to complement the bride’sgown) along with pearl cufflinks.
While the guests were assembling for theceremony a lone guitarist Ben Eve played andcontinued through the formal photographs untilthe evening when Christian's father, this time asa singer, joined his band ‘Mid Life Crisis’, toentertain the wedding party. Another featureduring the day was a photobooth, complete witha chest full of props such as wigs, moustachesand clothes to amuse the guests.The couple hadplaced portraits of their grandparents lookingdown on the festivities, as it was felt that theyshould not be left out on such a big occasion.
The couple had decided on cup cakes in placeof the usual multi-tiered variety. A large one forthe top table and individual styles for each guest.
It was on the following day when they allawoke to a white world but were able to safelymake their way home.

It all began: Ab and Hanne metat high school and fell in love atthe age of 16. After spending a perfectholiday in Morocco in 2005, they jokedabout getting married in Marrakech. In 2007Ab asked Hanne’s father for her hand andgave her mother 28 white roses tosymbolises the 28-years of Hanne’s life andthe rest is history.
She wore: Throughout the day Hannewore three beautiful dresses all designed andcustom made bycouturier AlbertOiknine, including hermain wedding dresswhich was white anddecorated with frostedbeads which she worewith silver shoes, agreen Moroccan Caftanwith Swarovskistrapped shoes and acoral and gold Oriental dress, with matchingshoes. Four flower girls dressed in matchinglime green dresses accompanied Hanne, withbaskets filled with fresh rose petals.
He wore: Ab wore three different weddingoutfits all designed by Moroccan designerAlbert Oiknine, including a white wedding suit,made of the same textile as the brides dress
with satin gold shoes,Moroccan jelaba; atraditional, long loose-fitting robe, withMoroccan shoes and agreen Oriental suitwith gold shoes. Thetwo pageboys and ringbearer were dressed in
traditional Moroccan outfits.The ceremony: The wedding theme was a
mixture of European and Western traditionsand was typically Moroccan. The ceremony tookplace at “the island in the pool” at the MuranoResort. Hanne walked down a white carpet,covered with fresh rose petals and glitter withher father, whilst dakka el Marrakchia, a type of

Moroccan music played andmet Ab, who was waiting infront of the island. Thewedding was then blessed and the couple fedeach other dates and milk and then exchangedwedding rings as a Moroccan lady yelled.
The celebrations: The reception was at theMurano Resort, which the couple hired for thewedding. Ab and Hanne arrived at dinner in an“ameria” the typical Moroccan way of putting thebride and groom on a chair and then dancingwhilst balancing them. The entertainmentincluded camel rides, henna designs duringdinner, orchestra and DJ and fireworks beforethe wedding cake was cut at midnight.
Personal touches: Guests were givenhandmade Moroccan mirrors from Marrakech,with words ‘Thank You, Ab & Hanne’ and theirwedding date engraved on the back and a

The Planning:Tom and Louisaloved the exotic
atmosphere andlandscape of Thailandbut decided it was to far to travel to getmarried. After 18 months of planning, exploringhotels and riads in Marrakech they both agreedthat Morocco fit their bill perfectly.
She wore: Louisa wore an ivory silk, fittedstrapless dress designed by Benjamin Roberts.Her bodice was decorated with gold anddiamante jewels and she wore a beautiful,custom-made hairpiece made of flowers. Shealso wore a freshwater pearl necklace andbracelet. Louisa had four bridesmaids dressed

in coral dresses and they all carried a bouquetof white roses.
He wore: Tom wore an ivory coloured,tailored suit from A Suit That Fits and had hisinitials on the pocket.
The Day Before: Drummers wearingtraditional Moroccan dress greeted Guests andmint tea and pastries were served. The guestswere overwhelmed by the warmth andwelcoming they received.

The ceremony:The couple decidedto hire a Riad; alarge traditionalMoroccan house tohold the weddingceremony andcelebrations. Thecouple described thesix-bedroom Riad asa 'palace with it's beautiful garden andfountain. The ceremony was traditional Tomwaited for his bride at the top of the aisle andLouisa walked from the suite, across the gardenpassing an avenue of tropical trees andadmiring guests who were lined up in whitechairs, creating an aisle. The couple exchangedvows written by themselves and wedding ringsand listened to three readings written by closefriends and family and two poems includingThe Perfect Wedding Cake and The Dove,followed by Marvin Gaye's 'All I Need To GetBy' and 'Songbird' by Eva Cassidy.
