ustRight is designed to be as flexible as

possible, whilst offering teachers every possible support in the important work

they do. It is based on a number of fundamental beliefs.

We believe firmly that students are not all the same. As a result we have

produced a variety of topics and tasks to suit different tastes. There are different

approaches to grammar, vocabulary and language skills work to appeal to

different learning styles and preferences. However, we also recognise that

teachers have different preferences too, and so the range of activity types is

designed with these varying teacher preferences in mind.

We believe that language is a complex multi-layered system. Just Right

follows a wide-ranging syllabus. At each level there is significant coverage of

grammar, language functions, vocabulary and pronunciation activities. We offer

a principled approach to writing, and substantial reading training. There are a

number of exciting speaking activities at each level too.

We believe that motivation is the key to learning success and so, in Just Right,

we offer stimulating reading and listening content, accompanied by enjoyable

speaking and writing tasks. There is a blend of real word information, fiction,

humour, and tasks which have clearly recognisable outcomes. But engagement is

also created by helping students to become as autonomous as possible. In Just

Right we provide activities that help students to be responsible for their own

learning. At the different levels we offer, first, Just Learning tips, and later a wide

variety of learner-training activities. At the intermediate level we include a range

of dictionary training activities so that students can learn to use this most

important of resources.

Finally, we believe that learning and teaching are very important activities,

demanding a blend of serious study, excitement, humour, drama and enjoyment.

It is these elements which Just Right has attempted to provide.

“Now it is up to students and teachers to bring them to life.”
