Iencourage everyone to ask questions, askfor help if needed, and above all, workwell with one another. We all doShowcase, not for any personal glory, butbecause we know that Showcase makesan impact and brings music to ourcommunities. But if one part fails, thewhole structure is weakened. Some of my favorite things aboutShowcase are the interpersonalrelationships I’ve had the opportunity todevelop. I never miss a social event, so itwas wonderful to see everyone who cameout to the Empty House Party. What afantastic turn-out. I was especiallyimpressed by the number of the generalpublic who paid a premium to see thehouse before renovations began.The 2020 Showcase House is not just aconcept anymore. It’s on, baby, and it’sreal!

2020 is off to the races -– can’t believe how fast this is moving … Cheers and much

appreciation to Dana Marevich and Lynn Mehl on a successful EHP – beautifully executed,

yummy food and LOTS of shrimp (and we all know how much Showcase loves shrimp).

Thank you to everyone who made the event happen, and special thanks to John Hoag

(Christine Upton’s love) for providing the live music! Have any questions about the

designers or miss a space? Make sure to join us at the February Benefit Committee

meeting for the full introduction of the 2020 design team!

Super excited with all the media partnerships being developed by Michele Lembo and her

PR team -– can’t wait for the extended coverage! Very pleased to announce our new

National Media Sponsor, Aspire Magazine. Our Tickets team worked hard to sell record

numbers of Golden, VIP and Insider tickets (and collect important data) –- now

beginning the pivot to regular ticket marketing and sales which will launch at the end of

the month. Thank you to Joy Sullivan and Bev Marksbury for leading the charge on

Patrons -– we are very grateful to all who have donated. Very excited that Chef Edward

of Sierra Fusion will be providing all the nosh and nibbles for 2020! Marsha Seyffert is

putting together a fantastic entertainment program and schedule for the house -– lots of

reasons to keep coming back, touring the home and shopping at our awesome Shops, as

curated by Marilyn Anderson and Erin Dundee!

Orchestra. We invite all our members to come support and enjoy the performances ofthe young competitors at Pasadena Conservatory of Music at 100 North Hill Avenuebeginning at 10:30 AM.

January is always all about the flurry of activity and excitement surrounding the event ofthe season, the Empty House Party! We celebrate and thank the wonderful andsupportive media that continuously turn out for this big event!

We certainly are starting the year off with a bang! We have kept our President andBenefit Chair very busy signing contracts, for partnerships, that is! Coming on board topartner with Showcase are California Homes + Design, California Homes, Modern LuxuryInteriors, LA Dreams, Luxe, Rue Magazine, Pasadena Magazine, Convo by Design, andlast but not least, Aspire Design and Home Magazine! With all these great publicationsand our local media venues, I am sure we can look forward to lots of coverage of ourfabulous Showcase House!

If you want to learn more about this year’s Showcase House, then you won’t want tomiss the February General Meeting. Tim Gregory, our house historian, will join us to talkabout Locke House and its first owners, Edmund and Elizabeth Locke.

Second, if you missed the Halloween Haunt, you definitelydon’t want to miss the Associates Sneak Peek on Saturday,March 7th. If you did attend the Halloween Haunt, youknow how great that was and we know you will make everyeffort to continue the fun by coming, with or without yoursignificant other, to see the 2020 Showcase House while itis under construction…yes, we are planning an event thatmen will enjoy!!! The Associates Sneak Peek will start about4:00 PM with a tour of the House. We are advised thatsome of our 2020 designers will be there to talk about their design concepts. And then,of course, since Marybeth and Eileen are involved, there will be wine and soft beverages,as well as some hors d’oeuvres. After all, we can’t have you go thirsty or hungry at anAssociate event, can we?
