  Lexington High School Event Contract

The spring is an exciting time for celebration. The Junior Prom is a social highlight and

opportunity for celebration for the entire class. It is important to note that attending the prom is a privilege, not a right. In order to ensure the success of all events sponsored by or related to

Lexington High School, all participating students must understand and agree to the following

guidelines:

• All students must either ride on LHS busses to and from the Prom or be checked in and

checked out of the event by his/her parent. No exceptions. Check-in at the high schoolgym begins at 5:15PM and the busses will load at approx. 6:30PM.

• Students are expected to adhere to the Code of Discipline that applies to all school-

sponsored events, as outlined in the student handbook, pages 32-59.

• There will be a “Meet and Greet” line upon checking in. Students will enter the reception

area at LHS for a formal greeting by members of the faculty and administration. If there is

any reasonable suspicion of the use of any alcohol or illegal substances, a school

administrator will question the student, and may ask to search any personal belongings. If consent is not given for these searches, the student will not be admitted to the event.

• At any point that a student breaks the Code of Discipline or is determined to be under the

influence of, or in possession of, any alcohol or illegal substances, his or her  parents/guardians will be notified immediately by phone, and asked to pick up their child at

The Burlington Marriott. The student will not be permitted to ride back to LHS with the

class in the busses. Students who cannot be picked up in a reasonable time frame may beturned over to the Burlington Police Dept. for protective custody.

IMPORTANT: In order to purchase a ticket to the Junior Prom, you, along with your parent or 

guardian, must sign and return the bottom portion of this form. If you have an 18-year-old form onfile at LHS, you may sign the form as your own guardian. If you have any questions, please see

your class advisor or Dean. Thank you for your cooperation, and we look forward to celebrating

the end of your Junior Year!
