I want to thank all of those who participated and
came from all over California and beyond. A great
group of family and friends we have not seen in many
years. We use this event to bring together our family
and their friends to join in together for some great
food and great music from our own Sensei Justin
Love.
We all want to thank Eddie Gonzales for saving a
little boy from drowning during the Escrima Demo.
He fell into the Oak Grove Regional lake, and due to
the alert eye of Yvonne Tibon, and the quick response
of Eddie Gonzales, who jumped in the lake with cell
phone in pocket and dark glasses still on to pull the
little boy who fell in, and had gone under water a
couple of times to be pulled to safety by Eddie.
Eddie Gonzales you are the hero of the day. It could
have been a disaterous day if not for your couragious
effort in saving that liitle guy struggling to keep his
head above water. Thank you!

Fundraiser Kata Perfection Seminar
A memorial fund has been established to help Leedy's
family with burial costs

Past Student Allison Leedy
I want to thank all of our students and parents who participated in the Memorial
Fundraiser for Allison Leedy. We were able to present Allison’s parents standing next to
me to my right with a envelop with $1,020.00 we raised to help them with their
daughter’s burial expenses. They were very grateful for all of our students and parents
support.

Sensei Gene Tibon is “Ambassador” for selection of inductees for Japanese
OkinawanKarate Masters to the this years 2014 “Masters Hall of Fame” at the Long Beach
Convention Center August 1st. Sensei Tibon has selected some the the highest level Karate
masters on the north American continent for induction to this Hall of Fame. Dr. Julius Thiry,
Thomas Burke, Roger Jarrett, Hideharu Igaki, Gary Tsutsui, Darrell Goodyear,
Dr. Clay Morton, Douglas Jepperson, Yogen Mungroosing, Darren Scott Choo, Rodney
Hu Sr., Wayne Shockness, and Randolph Gordon. This tournament is one of the most
prestigous founded by Ed Parker, and is where Bruce Lee did his many demonstrations of
his art Jeet Kune Do.

Leadership training is exactly that, it teaches our student to become role models, leaders, positive examples, assistants to the Instructors, develops confidence, taking initiative, customer service understanding, team work relationships with leadership instructor team, and how to take initiative towards addressing an issue, or developing a creative idea in making you into somebody who can work with and teach anyone. Our Leadership program teaches our students about business and corporate understanding. This class will affect them in school, work, clubs, organizations, along with development of their interpersonal skill development. Once every two months we have a Leadership meeting for two hours, this meeting is preparing for USA Grassroots Karate Workshop #3 June 8th Sunday, Tibon’s Patriot Summer IN HOUSE Olympic Day Celebration, and USA Nationals and USA Team Trials in Reno. What Better way to give your child a positive,
energetic summer of fun? Our summer camp starts with a three-hour first half karate Kata, drills,
and Kumite Drills Speed agility drills training. The second half has a 12-
1:30 Lunch/Fun –Museums, Police Dept, Fire Dept, movies, games, crafts.
From 1:30 – 3:30p Karate, Weapons, Self Defense, Bully tactics, Bunkai,
Jujitsu techniques.
In Tibon’s Goju Ryu summer program, kids not only get quality karate
training, they also receive official Karate t-shirt. They’ll learn firsthand
the benefits of training and focused effort, and return to school with
visible progress and accomplishments they can be proud of. They’ll have
spent an active summer having fun and making new friends!
