Thacked! A Fractured Tale of Frogs, Folks, and Falling Skies
On Friday, June 14th , students
in grades 3rd, 4th, and 5th will
be performing in their annual Spring Musical. This year, the
concert will be a musical produc-
tion of Thwacked!
Talking frogs? A falling sky? A town of confused folk? What is
really happening and who can
answer these questions? With
song, dance, and a fast-moving
script, the musical unfolds to re-veal these and many other de-
lightful characters as they at-
tempt to unravel this particular
mystery in a fairy tale world.
We are currently in full swing
with preparations for the musical,
but we need some help! We are
looking for volunteers for the
jobs listed below. If you are will-ing to share your time and crea-
tive talents, please email Allison
Violenes at [email protected]
Thanks in advance for the help and support! We are very excited for the show! Please encour-
age your child to practice his/her lines by reading and acting them out at home. All lines need to be memorized.
If you have any questions regarding the musical, please feel free to email me at:

The 9th Grade Biology classes recently took a trip to the Curacao Sea Aquarium.
Student Emily Reuijl had this to say:
“During my field trip to the Curacao Sea Aquarium, I learned many new different things about aquatic organisms and their envi-ronment. When we arrived at the aquarium, our guide told us about the different types of fish they have and how they interact with their environment. One of the species I remember during my visit is the Moray Eel, it looks like a serpent, it is green, and it opened its mouth to breath. After we looked at different fish, the guide explained to us how the submarine worked and that they have dis-covered more than 60 new species around Curacao from using it. Then, we went to the Ocean Lens, an underwater observatory, and we were able to see the submarine going to the surface. Minutes after, we went snorkeling and I saw different fish species, some of them were very big and some very small, and we saw sharks. To conclude, this was a fun, wonderful, and knowledgeable experi-ence, in which I learned and saw another amazing area of Cura-cao.”

Parents and Students, I am happy to have you all coming to the library to check out some books during this school year. Unfortunately, this year is ending and the library needs to have all the books in before the sum-mer break. All books checked-out by students should have been returned by June 3, 2019. If you still have library books, I ask you to hand them right away! Please return these books or we must ask that they be paid for as they will have to be replaced. Thank you for your understanding. This year no books can be checked out during summer break. Please feel free to contact me by email address below if you have any questions. -Ms. Tania: [email protected]
