The Sanctuary Candle that will be lit this week during our Eucharistic Celebration is in loving memory of Marie Cappello. This is a gift from Tony Bisconti.
The Altar Flowers that will be offered at our Eucharistic Celebrations for this week are in loving memory of Josephine & Dominic Nicastro. This is a gift from daughters Angie & Connie.
We hear in the readings this week that the Apostles and the Blessed Mother locked up in the upper room when the Holy Spirit descend upon them. There was the sound of a rushing wind. The Spirit descended on them as tongues of fire. In fact the whole house shook! Bishop Checchio called down the Holy Spirit on 81 youngsters in our Church. He mentioned this when he was here and he mentioned that I was praying that the Church did not shake and have the roof collapse on us. I wasn’t worried. The Church building is in good shape. It has some wear and tear but the construction is solid. I think they don’t build things like they used to. It was after all a Civil Defense shelter so it would have afforded some protection against conventional disasters. This year we celebrate the 60th anniversary of this building. The Bishop also mentioned that we don’t know how the Holy Spirit will call and lead our young people. They just have to be open to the Spirit’s promptings. That is true for all of us, no matter what age or state of life. We should all have our hearts open to the Holy Spirit and let him guide us. How can we do this? Firstly by opening up to God in prayer, by reading and meditating on Sacred Scripture, by frequenting the sacraments, especially Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist. Also by listening to the people of God. For me, I heard my calling to the priesthood in prayer, in Scripture, in the Sacraments and in the people of God. Good advice from a trusted person who is in tune with the Holy Spirit is reaffirming. So try this and hope the building doesn’t shake too much.
A Message from Pastor Fr. Michael Fragoso

No estaba preocupado.
