Dayspring Members and Friends - The Church Office has begun their summer hours. The office will be closed on Fridays until Aug. 10.

Koinonikos - The June issue of the Dayspring newsletter is now available for pick up in the narthex for those who have chosen that option.

Singles at Dayspring - Singles, Etc. Lunches - Each Sunday after the second service, those who want to go out for lunch as a group meet at the restaurant listed below. If you attend first service, please join us! We gather around noon under the name “Dayspring”. June 3 - Mimi’s - NE corner of Chandler and Price (101 Freeway).

UMOM Volunteers - We need volunteers to help with UMOM Homeless Shelter dinners on the following Sundays: June 17, July 15 and Aug. 12. You would need to be at the center at 3:30 p.m. to help cook and would be done by shortly after 6:00 p.m. Please contact Carolyn Reid at [email protected] or (602) 882-5292 if you have any questions or would like to volunteer. Thanks so much for your help!

Family Promise - We will be hosting Family Promise again the week of June 17. Sign-ups will be available on the patio after both services today. Volunteers are needed to cook, spend the night, set up rooms, and clean up at the end of the week. Other ways to help include contributing a meal item/s, washing laundry at the conclusion of the week, and/or accompanying us on our Saturday outing. Contact Maria at 480-636-0963 with questions.

United Methodist Men would like to thank everyone who participated in our Dinner and Song event. It was a great success with over 100 people in attendance. This was the last UMM activity of the spring but plan to be at our Old Time Gospel Music Service on July 29th. UMM also congratulates Rick Drown, our Lee Cook Memorial honoree for 2012. See you in the Fall!

Brown Bag Lunch - Come join us for Brown Bag Lunch every Tuesday at noon. Bring your own lunch and socialize with people from the church. We always have a good time. Come and be a part of this fun group.

Connections is a Dayspring mission that advocates for the intrinsic worth of all persons, regardless of their sexual orientation. It offers support to and education about gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered persons and their families. It also hosts the Tempe PFLAG group meeting each first Friday of the month. Our clergy can provide names of “Connections” members for you to contact.

VBS Mission ProjectOur Dayspring Children will be supporting the Shoebox Ministry this year by collecting toiletries that can fit into a shoe box for the local homeless population. If you have any of these items at home, please assist us by donating to this worth cause. To find out more, visit www.shoeboxministry.org.

• empty shoe boxes• 1 reg. size bottle shampoo (or 14 hotel/travel size)• 1 reg. size bottle conditioner (or several travel size)• 1 can shaving cream• 1 tube toothpaste• 1 adult toothbrush• 1 washcloth (new or clean used)• 1 month supply women’s sanitary napkins• 1 deodorant• 1 large bar soap (individually wrapped or in a ziploc bag)• 1 comb or hair brush• 2 individual band-aids• 2 disposable razors• 1 body lotion (or several travel size)• 1 pocket-size packet of tissues• 1 pair of socks (new or clean used)• 1 mending / sewing kit• 1 magazine / reading material

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL“Operation Overboard:

Dare to Go Deep With God!”June 11th - 15th • 9:00 - 11:30 a.m.

We’ll go overboard each day where we’ll have a Deep Sea Adventure and meet new friends and learn about and experience God’s love through story, music, art, food, crafts, science, games and missions.
