I am delighted to welcome you to the Salisbury Art Trail for 2018 presented by Plain Arts Salisbury.Salisbury Art Trail celebrates its 12th year revealing the very best of creative talent in and around Salisbury.
For 16 days, homes, studios, shops, cafés and galleries will host a dazzling array of both traditional and contemporary art including painting, jewellery, sculpture, photography, mixed media and much much more.
This year, for the first time Plain Arts have two showcase venues: Salisbury Arts Centre and Salisbury Central Library. They are hosting‘Trailblazers’, where the vibrancy, diversity and talent of Salisburyartists are exhibited together.
The Art Trail represents over 100 artists and is a great opportunity to discover fresh and original work, a chance to meet and talk with artists, enjoy delicious refreshments en route and be inspired and enjoy the wonderful surroundings of Salisbury.
Art can offer us perspective to enrich our lives, share new view-points and connections with each other. Plain Arts hope you enjoy your journey through the Art trail, supporting and contributing to the creative culture and the City of Salisbury.
Plain Arts Salisbury is the visual arts network for Salisbury and the surrounding areas. It offers member artists and arts organisations support and networking opportunities and promotes access to the arts for everyone. It is a not for profit organisation and is overseen by a committee of volunteers and a coordinator.
I would like to say a big thank you to all of the volunteer committee members, who have given up valuable time and energy to put this years amazing event together.
I would also like to thank former committee members who continue to offer their support and to Plain Arts members for whom this trail celebrates.
Thank you to our sponsors and to all who have made the Art Trail 2018 possible. A particular thank to David Walker, Plain Arts Coordinator, not just for all of his enormous hard work and commitment but also for maintaining good humour and enthusiasm throughout. Monday 28 May 10am - 12.30pm & 1.30pm - 4pmNo booking required l Normal admission charges apply l Back Lawn & Lecture Hall
Join us for two days of living history as we welcome the Andover - based living history group ‘Britain at its Best’. This group brings to life exactly what a field office of the 4th Battalion Dorsetshire regiment would have been like during World War II. So whether it is a 1943 Austin K2 general service lorry or communications equipment - come and find out just what is required to run an army on the move. Working alongside ‘Britain at its Best’ we are pleased to welcome Jo and Derek who recreate an army film and photographic unit, giving a glimpse into work that was secret during the war. Capturing all this for posterity, we are also pleased to welcome artists from Plain ArtsSalisbury, who will be acting as war artists for the two days.Come along and try your hand at being a war artist too!The Salisbury Museum, Kings House,65 The Close, Salisbury SP12EN
