CONFESSION AND FORGIVENESS
PLEASE STAND AS YOU ARE ABLE
P Blessed be the holy Trinity, ☩ one God, whose steadfast love is
everlasting, whose faithfulness endures from generation to
generation.
C Amen.
P Trusting in the mercy of God, let us confess our sin.
Silence is kept for reflection.
P Together we pray,
C Reconciling God, we confess that we do not trust your
abundance, and we take for granted your presence in our lives.
We place our hope in ourselves and rely on our own efforts. We
fail to believe that you provide enough for all. We fear difference
and do not welcome others as you have welcomed us. We sin in
thought, word, and deed. By your grace, forgive us; through
your love, renew us; and in your Spirit, lead us; so that we may
live and serve you in newness of life. Amen
P Beloved of God, by the radical abundance of divine mercy we have
peace with God through ☩ Christ Jesus, through whom we have
received grace upon grace. Our sins are forgiven. Let us live now in
hope. For hope does not disappoint, because God’s love has been
poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit.
C Amen.
HYMN Give to Our God Immortal Praise! ELW 848
PRAYER OF THE DAY
P The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the
communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
C And also with you.
P Together we pray,
C O God, you direct our lives by your grace, and your words of
justice and mercy reshape the world. Mold us into a people who
welcome your word and serve one another, through Jesus Christ, our
Savior and Lord. Amen.
WORD
FIRST READING Jeremiah 28:5-9 5The prophet Jeremiah spoke to the prophet Hananiah in the presence of
the priests and all the people who were standing in the house of the LORD; 6and the prophet Jeremiah said, “Amen! May the LORD do so; may the
LORD fulfill the words that you have prophesied, and bring back to this
place from Babylon the vessels of the house of the LORD, and all the
exiles. 7But listen now to this word that I speak in your hearing and in the
hearing of all the people. 8The prophets who preceded you and me from
ancient times prophesied war, famine, and pestilence against many
countries and great kingdoms. 9As for the prophet who prophesies peace,
when the word of that prophet comes true, then it will be known that the
LORD has truly sent the prophet.”
L The word of God.
C Thanks be to God.
C Alleluia, Lord, to whom shall we go?
You have the words of eternal life. Alleluia.
GOSPEL Matthew 10:40-42
C Glory to you, O Lord.
[Jesus said to the twelve:] 40“Whoever welcomes you welcomes me, and
whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. 41Whoever
welcomes a prophet in the name of a prophet will receive a prophet’s
reward; and whoever welcomes a righteous person in the name of a
righteous person will receive the reward of the righteous; 42and whoever
gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones in the name of a
disciple—truly I tell you, none of these will lose their reward.” L The Gospel of our Lord.
C Praise to you, O Christ.

THE APOSTLES’ CREED
A Together we confess our faith,
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord. He was conceived by
the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He
suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was
buried. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the
Father. He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion
of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and
the life everlasting. Amen.
PRAYERS OF INTERCESSION
A Called into unity with one another and the whole creation, let us pray
for our shared world.
A Hear us, O God.
C Your mercy is great.
P Receive these prayers, O God, and those too deep for words; through
Jesus Christ our Lord.
C Amen.
In thanksgiving for God’s blessing, we respond with our tithe and offering
OFFERING IS RECEIVED ELW 884
A Together we pray,
C God of goodness and growth, all creation is yours, and your
faithfulness is as firm as the heavens. Water and word, wine and
bread: these are signs of your abundant grace. Nourish us
through these gifts, that we might proclaim your steadfast love in
our communities and in the world, through Jesus Christ, our
strength and our song. Amen.
GOD’S TABLE OF GRACE
P In the night in which he was betrayed, our Lord Jesus took bread, and gave
thanks; broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying: Take and eat; this is my
body, given for you. Do this for the remembrance of me.
Again, after supper, he took the cup, gave thanks, and gave it for all to drink,
saying: This cup is the new covenant in my blood, shed for you and for all
people for the forgiveness of sin. Do this for the remembrance of me.
A Together our prayer continues as Jesus taught,
C Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom
come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our
daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who
trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from
evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and
ever. Amen.
Instruction for coming to the table.
After communion, worship continues
P The body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ strengthen you and keep
you in his grace.
C Amen.
A Together we pray,
C Good and Gracious God in this meal we have feasted on your
goodness and have been united by your presence among us.
Empower us to go forth sustained by these gifts so that we may
share your neighborly love with all, through Jesus Christ, in the
power of your Holy Spirit. Amen.
P God, the creator, ☩ Jesus, the Christ, and the Holy Spirit, the
comforter, bless you and keep you in eternal love.
C Amen.

Flowers last Sunday were given by Harv and Alma Claussen in celebration of their anniversary.
Thanks! The Lutheran Chicks thank you all for donating so many plastic bags for their projects, but they are finished making the mats for now. Please recycle your bags at a local grocery store instead of bringing them to the church. You are invited… …to attend the wedding of Catherine Potts and David Deitrich next Saturday, July 4, at 1:30 pm. Wedding will be here at Faith, followed by a party at the Rotonda West American Legion Post 113.
Capital Campaign total donations: $37,610. Goal $40,000
Want to Help? Folks have been asking about donating for local people in need, so we have placed a plastic storage container on the ramp by the back door. You can bring any food you would like to donate and leave it in the container. The food bank especially needs cereal, jelly and canned pork and beans.

Special Note
This Sunday, June 28, Faith Lutheran Church of Rotonda West will hold a
drive-up communion service. Worshipers should gather in the parking lot
at 1:00 PM, and remain in their vehicles. Since our regular worship
service is available on line, this will only be a brief order of worship for
communion.
After the final prayer, cars will exit the parking lot, stopping at a
distribution station where communion will be received, and a blessing and
dismissal offered.
For those observing extreme precautions for contact, you may bring your
own bread and wine. These will be consecrated in your vehicle as a part
of the service.
