SHOWER SCREENSAll products are manufactured in accordance with EN 14428 and feature only 10mm thick toughened safety glass to EN 12150, all treated with Easy Clean protective fi nish at no additional charge.

Aluminium sections are extruded to BS 1474 from alloys complying with BS 6463 and coated to BS 6464.

All our frameless shower screens and walk-in shower enclosures are approved for use with “power showers”. It is unrealistic to expect any frameless shower screen to contain water if it is not used for the purpose for which it is intended, i.e. showering using either a fi xed or adjustable showerhead. If you want to make a shower screen leak by forcing water at the seals, it will leak!

Water retention is maintained in all products under normal showering conditions. However, when planning the design of your shower, water retention is a key consideration and thought must be given to the following;

The position of your showerhead – to avoid the chance of water escaping, where possible, try not to have water aimed directly at the frameless shower screen. The positioning of all shower heads in this brochure is for illustrative purposes only.

Install your frameless shower screen in a well ventilated area as steam may result in a build-up of mineral deposits.

Walk-in frameless shower screens with no doors may allow water spray to pass beyond the length of the screen, dependent upon the position of the showerhead and the volume of water it delivers.

As spray/mist may escape from your frameless shower screen, it is advisable to have a suitable waterproof fl oor outside the showering area.

Product descriptions do not imply the use of precious or valuable materials and colours and fi nishes shown in the catalogue are as accurate as possible within the limits of the printing process.

BATH SCREENSOur range of bath screens are not designed to fi t on baths with stepped fronts, an integral soap dish, head rest, handles that sit above the top of the bath or baths with a roll top design, all of which may affect the performance of the screen.

Our inward opening bath screens need room to move, so care must be given when positioning your taps of shower to ensure suffi cient space is left to fold the screen fl at against the wall.

Our bath screens are suitable for standard pressure showers and are not recommended for use with “power showers”. We recommend that the shower head is positioned parallel to the bath screen and does not aim water directly at the screen.

CLEANING AND CARE INFORMATION To maintain the appearance of your products clean by using a soft damp cloth and dry with a soft dry cloth or chamois leather. For stubborn stains, use undiluted washing up liquid.

Do not use abrasive or acidic cleaning products, scouring agents, products containing alcohol, scouring pads or steel wool. Lime scale can be avoided by wiping away drops of water immediately after use.

Easy Clean Glass Finish is an application that makes the glass water repellent by bonding an invisible non-stick polymer coating to the glass, creating an impenetrable barrier against lime-scale and other kind of build-up.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

HOW SHOULD YOU PREPARE THE AREA WHERE YOUR SHOWER SCREEN IS TO BE INSTALLED? Please show this information to your installer before they commence any work.

Your screen will be hand-made, specifi cally for you and as such; care should be taken when preparing the area where the shower screen is to be installed. The following points should be observed:

Ideally the base (shower tray, tiled fl oor etc.) should be horizontal over the whole length. If the base is out of level the screen may be diffi cult to install. Ideally, all walls should be upright, level and plumb. If the walls are not upright, level and plumb the screen may be diffi cult to install.

Please note, if your shower screen is being installed directly onto a tiled fl oor, it is important that you consider any items below the tiles (i.e. under-fl oor heating, pipe work etc.) that could be damaged when the horizontal under-frame/channels are being installed.

Your shower screen is manufactured using 10mm thick toughened safety glass that is heavy. It is important that all walls (and where appropriate ceilings) are suitably prepared so that the installer can achieve a suitable secure fi xing (for hinges, channel, stay bars etc.) during installation.

If the wall is a stud wall (as opposed to a solid wall), timber supports should be located behind the fi xing points. The minimum specifi cation of these timbers is either 300mm x 300m x 25mm squares where the hinges or stay bars are fi xed directly to the wall (the exact location of these is governed by the overall height of your shower screen or 100mm x 50mm x required length where glazing channels are fi xed directly to the wall (and ceiling where panels are being installed full height). Please speak with your appointed bathroom retailer for more information.

Your dimensions should be taken to fi nished works. This means that the shower tray or tiled fl oor is installed and your walls are fully tiled before measuring.

If you require any channels to be installed before you tile (so that you can tile up to them to conceal them) all sub surfaces should again be fully prepared.

You should consider the position of any items that you intend to position after the installation of your shower screen that may affect the future operation of your shower screen (i.e. wall mounted towel radiators, WC’s, basins etc.) as well as the position of the showerhead. It is not best practice to aim water directly at an opening door as, depending on the pressure and volume of water, the shower screen may not contain all the water.

It is also known as synthetic stone and is included in a group of “Solid Surface” materials; Skinless synthetic materials whose outermost surfaces have the same properties as their interiors.

The synthetic resin component in its structure gives it a certain amount of elasticity, while the mineral compounds act as a kind of shield that provide resistance to wear and tear, and also give it anti-slip qualities.

A compact and mineral composition of resins which are derived from marble. This gives the product its hardness and very good properties for use in the bathroom. We are so confi dent that theshowerlab™ shower screens will meet all your expectations that we offer a full Lifetime Guarantee.

This guarantee is in addition to and does not affect your statutory rights.

All theshowerlab™ shower screens are guaranteed for life from the date of purchase against manufacturing defects for glass and components with the exception of plastic seals which are guaranteed for two years from the date of purchase.

The guarantee does not cover damage caused during installation or glass shattering during or after installation. Easy Clean protective fi nish is not guaranteed for life as its performance is subject to outside infl uences, i.e. the maintenance and care regime of the user and is subject to a reduction in its effectiveness if abrasive cleaning products are used.

The guarantee is only valid in the UK and is available to the original purchaser (proof of purchase will be required) and cannot be transferred to a third party.

If a product is deemed to be defective, we will repair or replace any part of the item originally purchased. This shall constitute our sole obligation covered by the guarantee.

The guarantee covers normal domestic use, for all theshowerlab™ screens that have been installed in accordance with our installation instructions.

Under no circumstances will we be liable for:

• Any item that has been modifi ed without prior written approval by us.

• Any item that has been subjected to accidental damage, normal wear and tear, wilful neglect or that has failed as a direct result of incorrect maintenance.

• Any compensation, payments for consequential losses or any other associated costs unless prior written consent is given by us.

Appropriate care must be taken when cleaning glass that has been treated with the Easy Clean Glass Finish as the use of abrasive cleaners may damage the specialist surface protection.

We reserve the right to change designs, product specifi cation, fi nishes and materials without prior notice in line with our policy of continual review and improvement.
