A.A. IS MORE THAN A SET OF PRINCIPLES; IT IS A
SOCIETY OF ALCOHOLICS IN ACTION. WE MUST CARRY
THE MESSAGE, ELSE WE OURSELVES CAN WITHER AND
THOSE WHO HAVEN’T BEEN GIVEN THE TRUTH MAY DIE.

Step Six: “Were entirely ready to have God remove
all these defects of character .”
Tradition Six: “An A.A. group ought never en-
dorse, finance, or lend the A.A. name to any related
facility or outside enterprise, lest problems of money,
property, and prestige divert us from our primary
purpose.”
Concept VI: On behalf of A.A. as a whole, our
General Service Conference has the principal respon-
sibility for the maintenance of our world services,
and it traditionally has the final decision respecting
large matters of general policy and finance. But the
Conference also recognizes that the chief initiative
and the active responsibility in most of these matters
should be exercised primarily by the Trustee mem-
bers of the Conference when they act among them-
selves as the General Service Board of Alcoholics
Anonymous.

HUMILITY “Perpetual quietness of heart. It is to have no trouble. It is never to be fretted
or vexed, irritable or sore; to wonder at nothing that is done to me, to feel noth-ing done against me.
“It is to be at rest when nobody praises me, and when I am blamed or despised, it is to have a blessed home in myself where I can go in and shut the door and pray to my Father in secret and be at peace, as in a deep sea of calmness, when
all around and about is seeming trouble.”
