River House Restaurant is back for a third season!

Thank you to our Kitchen Tour Sponsors!

Voted "Best Chowder in New England" by NECN viewers, we are honored to have River House Restau-rant back for a third year as a season sponsor. Owned by Michael and Peter Lab-rie, River House Restaurant announced the renewal of its season sponsorship during our April 3 Sneak

Peek to an overwhelming round of applause by nearly 200 attendees. Also a member of The Music Hall board of trustees, Michael said River House Restaurant supports The Music Hall because they believe arts, culture, and food are the soul of a living, breathing community. With the fine weather months upon us, we hope you’ll stop by River House Restaurant for classic seafood favorites complemented by contemporary dishes served on decks and dining rooms overlooking the Piscataqua River, and when you do — please be sure to join us in saying THANK YOU!

As president of the board of trustees, a Stakeholder, and a corporate sponsor, David has been a steadfast and inspirational supporter of The Music Hall. We are grateful for his long time support, leadership savvy, humor and intellect.

“David Hills has served as Presi-dent of the Board of Trustees at The Music Hall for the past two years and has made an indelible impact on this nonprofit cultural center. David has been a tireless

advocate, leader, fundraiser, and community representative for The Music Hall.” – Patricia Lynch, Executive Director

“As a partner of a firm that was formed to work with clients interested in sustainable investing, being of service to The Music Hall has been a natural fit. Restoring and preserving an historic theater, watching the expressions on patrons' faces during a show, it’s a magical place.” – David Hills, Partner at Veris Wealth Partners President of The Music Hall Board of Trustees

20 string students and faculty from Portsmouth Music and Arts Center (PMAC), our Explore + Learn partner of the year, joined us for a masterclass with Kronos Quartet prior to their performance on April 27. Students and faculty alike marveled at the unusual styles, sound effects, techniques, and instrumentation. Kronos founder and violinist, David Harrington, answered questions and demonstrated techniques. Discussed in depth was intonation – the precise matching of pitches between players. Harrington confessed that intonation is a vital issue for players of ALL levels – a lifetime study! Stay tuned for an announce-ment about our Explore + Learn Partner of the Year for 2013-2014!
