P2P2 Missions Work Camp June 17-24, 2006

Piketon OH This is the third year that Com-munity Action Committee of Pike County has worked with a faith based organization to provide county residents with minor home repair assistance. P2P2 Missions will be return-ing for their second year of service. Students are asked to obtain a $75.00 sponsorship to assist in paying for the cost of work camp. Sponsorships allow them to support the P2P2 Mis-sions whether or not they are able to attend.

Students caravan in private vehicles to Piketon High School where they will be housed again this year, provid-ing the group a place to eat meals and sleep. Their daily routines include an eight hour workday with planned activities and devo-tional time set aside in the eve-ning hours. Serving brothers and sisters is the purpose of their work. Work will consist of home and yard improvements such as repairing and replacing roofs, building wheelchair ramps, installing doors and windows, repainting and cleanup, etc….

Work Camp is a great opportu-nity to learn more about your-self and others. This year’s activities and devotionals will center around the theme of “ The Heart of Worship”.

The designation, P2P2 Mis-sions, recognizes the giving that will occur on this Mission trip. The Poolesville, Maryland group will be traveling to Pike-ton, Ohio to help people in need. We also know that Pike-ton will be giving Poolesville much more back in return.

In Memory of Pamela Frances Hoffman

Born March 30th, 1958 Died June 7th, 1997

Pam

Just like me

She liked dolls, Star Trek, Anne Rice, Cats and Mountain Dew

And she like me too

Her face was prednisone Moon under wispy hair Her earrings never matched

But Pam didn’t care

She called her plastic leg Barbie And her worn out kidney donated from her Mom was Lumpy

Lumpy hurt when it rained.

Diabetes and death couldn’t get her all at once, but could only get a toe, then a foot, half a leg, then some of her fingers Despite pain that Demerol couldn’t fix, and wheelchair ramps that didn’t exist

She fought

But one night while she slept death fi-nally caught her, when she didn't could-n’t joke her way out of it

Now I try to tell people how wonderful they are While I still can recite poetry Before crowds of people And she’s here with me

Once more

EXCELLENT REVIEWS FOR FAMILY HEALTH CENTER STAFF

Tis the Season

We recently com-pleted our biannual Patient Satisfaction Survey for all Fam-ily Health Center Sites. We scored very well overall. The patients had the opportunity to make comments as well.

Last year we had approxi-mately 60,000 encounters throughout the system. A lot of the time all we hear is nega-tive feedback. For this reason we wanted to share just a few of the overwhelmingly positive comments that the patients have wrote.

Waverly Site:

“I think the staff does an excel-lent job. Keep up the good work”

“Staff is very friendly! Excel-lent experience! Would highly recommend.

“I have been coming here for 24 years and have always been taken care of very well. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

Piketon Site:

“I’m glad you guys are here for us. You all have comforted my family and me. Thank you.”

“We have been going to CAC clinics for 15 years. We always get excellent care!”

“I’m a fairly new patient, but my experience with the staff here and the care has been exceptional. I would and do tell friends an family about the

clinic. I am very pleased and satisfied with the care I get here.”

Jackson Site:

“Jackson has a wonder staff, everyone from the reception-ists to nurses and doctors. Thank you for excellent care.”

“The girls are very helpful. I can’t read and they pleasantly help me when I need it.

“As a mother of four children with no medical insurance, this clinic was a God send and the staff treated me and my children won-derfully. Thank you!”
