It’s been a full-on start to this year and we’re only just getting warmed up! Pro Hair Live Manchester was awesome and Gio, Miky and Paul from Schorem were on top form, showcasing their barbering skills in true Scumbag style. COLOURING step by step

Technique: shine line & border shineFormula 1: BASE milk_shake® smoothiessemi_permanent colour 6.41 33g + 5.6 17g, milk_shake® smoothies activating emulsion 75gFormula 2: ligh[10]white + milk_shake® creative oxidizing emulsion 10vol. 1. Divide the fringe area and two small strands from the eyebrow area. Isolate and block 5 sections: a round section in the inner area, and the other four created from the transversal and central separation.

7. This technique creates shiny effects over the hair, giving the hair softness and movement.

2. Separate the first strand of the right-hand section with a front diagonal.

Using the “Border Shine” technique, lighten the edge of the strand using formula 2.

8. Using the same technique, apply the lightening formula to the small strand of the eyebrow area. Repeat the same procedure on the opposite small strand.

3. Proceed in the same way on the opposite edge of the strand.

9. Separate the first strand from the fringe area horizontally and, using the “Shine Line” technique, lighten the last few centimetres of the ends.

4. Using z.one concept™ Color Stripes, isolate the lightened strand.

10. Using a brush, create a precise, clean line. Isolate each strand using Color Stripes.

5. Separate each strand using an external diagonal and complete the same procedures over the right section, isolating each strand using Color Stripes.

11. Proceed with the rest of the strands, applying the lightening formula on the previously created guide line.

6. Continue in the same way over the left-hand section. Manouk’s hair was coloured previously with formula 1 to give depth and shine to the hair.

Moira FoxMy name is Moira Fox and I am teaching for the last 5 years, teaching both in beauty and complementary health therapies. My background into the third level education started 15 years ago. I began with 2 years training in Swedish, aromatherapy massage and sports injury’s and sport sport nutrition.

I then worked doing massage in sport rehabilitation centre in the following years. I decided to turn my education towards the beauty industry and love the mix of both. I have had many happy job in both fields. I have owned and ran my own business but my heart belongs to teaching, as a result I went back to college to get my teaching qualifications and this has brought me here. To do what I do best - pass on my knowledge to those with interest in nails, make up and all things beauty.

Becky WardropSince I first started my hairdressing career, I have always had a passion for colour. I have gained my knowledge working alongside many talented colourists and hairdressers and involving myself into as much education and competitions as possible during the early stages of my career. I trained with Rush hair, working my way up the ranks onto their workshop team, this gave me the opportunity to work with the Art team on photoshoots, stage work and education seminars. It was here that I realised education was the role I wanted to take my career to.

That’s when the wonderful world of milkshake came to my attention. In 2014 I started working as a colour educator for milkshake, this lead onto becoming a member of the milkshake UK Artistic team as a colourist, taking part in staged events throughout the UK and Europe. In 2015 I became the brands Education Manager, looking after and arranging the education for milkshake and No Inhibition in the UK and Ireland.

Shelly PengillyFrom when Shelley was just 4 months old, the building had been her family home. As a little girl she playing ‘Shelley’s Salon’ with her cousins she always knew she’d be a hairdresser.

After gaining ten years of salon experience Shelley took the plunge and converted the family home into the salon you see today, turning her childhood dream into reality. Now completely converted, you’d struggle to picture a living room in amongst the hairdryers and chairs, but it’s this relaxed, homely vibe that our customers love about this salon.

At Shelley’s we pride ourselves on having such a diverse team who are passionate about all styles of hairdressing. Our professional and experienced staff will take care of you from the moment you book the appointment to the moment you leave, whilst always providing a personal approach.

The salon has even been recognized as award winning, after scooping the title of ‘Salon of the Year’, both regionally and nationally, at the annual Welsh Hair and Beauty Awards 2014. Shelley herself also received the award for ‘Women’s Stylist of the Year’!

Aisling KelleherHaving worked in the hair industry for 19yrs and always being salon based in Oct 2014 Aisling Kelleher decided to bit the bullet and follow her true hair passion that being styling & up styling hair.

My background in that field was built up working on bridal parties & getting the oppurnity to work on multiple editorial shoots for RSVP , Xposé magazine , Bridal magazines , Paco & television work for RTÉ & Don’t tell the bride and countless model portfolio shoots & it’s here I finally found where I’m at my happiest with hair.

Passing on what I have picked up through my years I love doing through my up styling courses at Salon Shop Cork or when I’m invited into salons to upskill stylists that might have a fear of up styling. I look forward to meeting you at one of my upcoming courses Aisling Kelleher.
