JUNE 14 IS FLAG DAY In the United States, Flag Day is celebrated on June 14. It commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States on June 14, 1777 by resolution of the Second Continental Congress. Bernard Cigrand, a small-town teacher in Wis-consin, originated the idea for an annual flag day, to be celebrated across the country every June 14, in 1885. That year, he led his school in the first formal observance of the holiday.

death of Mr. George Floyd and the recent events of violence throughout the United States. It is on the St. Leo Website, www.stleochurch.org. Please take a few moments to read this letter from his perspective.

SUMMER INTENSIVE PROGRAM CANCELLED

As a parish, St. Leo’s has been trying to follow the Covid Guidelines and Restrictions to keep everyone safe and provide as much up-to-date information to you as possible. We have been watching the school districts to get perspective on the appropriate way to handle Faith Formation Classes this summer. As such, it has been decided (with great sadness) that the Summer Intensive Program for the week of July 20-24 must be cancelled.

The religious education faith program for 2020-21 will proba-bly mean having a Sept-April/May weekly class model. Details are still being formulated.

It is hoped that a modified VBS program can be offered, de-tails will be available at a later date.

A BIG thank you to our amazing SI teachers and volunteers and thank you to all of our Faith Formation Families for their un-derstanding and cooperation. Feel free to contact Mary Lou Rosien, [email protected] or 594-2621 with any ques-tions! God bless and stay safe!
