As part of a high profile Tanzanian trade mission to the region, Jumeira Baccalaureate School (JBS)

welcomed the First Lady of Tanzania, HE Salma Kikwete.

First Lady, HE Salma Kikwete, a former teacher of twenty years visited Jumeira Baccalaureate School

(JBS) on Wednesday 26 February 2014. She met with Mrs Ros Marshall , CEO of Taaleem, Dr. Samia Al

Farra, CEdO of Taaleem and Mr Andrew Homden, Principal at Jumeira Baccalaureate School. She also

First Lady, HE Salma Kikwete founded Wanawake Na Maendeleo (WAMA) Foundation in 2006, which is a

Mr. Andrew Homden said: “We are honoured to be part of such a prestigious and high profile visit. If we

can help support achieving the objectives set by the WAMA Foundation and enable women, girls and

vulnerable children to gain access to education of which we take for granted, we will feel privileged to

do so.”

JBS is keen to support charities to ensure that other children and families across the world have access

to education and the many others things that we simply take for granted. We host many events across

the academic year to help to support such charities. Our staff and students are keen to support overseas

projects and initiatives and a joint project in Tanzania will greatly benefit all involved.
