It happens every day. Every driver knows what it’s like to

ensure a safe distance between them and the car in front of them only to have

someone fill that gap and reduce your safety cushion. Or when drivers expect

a semi to move into a center lane full of traffic so they can merge on to the

express way. Our drivers are challenged on the road every day and we

certainly commend the diligence of all of our safe drivers.

One in particular, we received video for was Richard Allen, a driver for Wes

Boyd in Kansas City, MO. Richard’s awareness and quick thinking

absolutely resulted in avoiding what could have been a very serious accident

when the driver of a small car cut Richard’s big rig off, and if not for his use

of a handy exit lane (and a horn) this car could have been hit and hit good.

(Richard didn’t use any swear words or anything!)

Vice President, Jeff Berlin called it a “serious squeeze play successfully

avoided”.

Kudos to you for safe driving, Richard.

Thanks to every driver out there who uses their skills in challenges like this.
