From one of the coldest winters in recent memory, to another hot summer in mid-Missouri, 2014 is sure moving fast. It is hard

to believe that July is already here, the halfway point of the year. From ballparks, getaways and grilling…to pools, parks and playgrounds, it is the season for having some fun. I hope you and your family have a great time.

One event I encourage you to attend is the 62nd annual Fire in the Sky festivities, to be held again in downtown Columbia. Folks of all ages will really enjoy it. What brought you to columbia? after college, my husband and I wanted to live in the “city” but still be close to both of our families. columbia was the natural choice since it’s halfway between my parents and his. We also got married here for the same reason in 2009.

What do you like to do for fun? I love playing with our one year old daughter, Marley, and spending time outside. My husband clayton has a motorcycle I enjoy taking rides on when we have some time to ourselves. I love taking walks or bicycle rides with our daughter and boxer-German sheppard in tow at columbia’s many parks! When the weather is not cooperating, I like window shopping at antique shops or downtown. Ideally, I’d like to spend more time traveling as well.

Accomplishment you are most proud of: My marriage. hands-down it’s what I rely on when times are tough and where I turn to when I have something to celebrate. We’re five years strong now and looking forward to eternity together.

What do you like to do for fun? I have a huge passion for life. having fun in everything I do is one of my keys to success. I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I love to travel, cooking, everything outdoors and sports; from cheering on my husband during his dirt bike races, to snowboarding; from watching the st. Louis cardinals (Go cards) to the OKc Thunder and everything in between.

All-new 2015 Hyundai genesis SedanAs someone who commutes regularly, I wanted to test drive a fun and sporty, yet comfortable car that’s also safe and easy to drive—and the 2015 Genesis proved to be just that.

When introduced to the car, I was told it’s one step away from driving itself and I couldn’t agree more. The Genesis offered more than a handful of cool and unique features that make it a worthwhile drive.

There is nothing more frustrating than dealing with wiper blades that won’t do the job. Your vehicle wiper system

keeps excessive water, snow, dirt and bugs from building up on the windshield, maintaining clear visibility. Regular replacement of these blades will keep them in proper working condi-tion. Many factors can accelerate the replace-ment interval of wipers, including operating conditions, frequency of use, material and type of wipers and sunny weather. In fact, wiper blades can deteriorate faster and need more frequent replacement during summer months due to exposure to hot temperatures. It’s a

Ford, America’s truck leader for 37 years, marks a major milestone with the sale of its500,000th3.5-literV6EcoBoost®-

equipped F-150.Just more than three years after its

introduction, popularity of Ford’s 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine continues to grow among F-150 customers as its cumulative fuel savings continue to increase.

In the past 38 months, F-150 EcoBoost owners collectively have saved an estimated 56.8 million gallons of gas on an annual basis. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, that’s equal to:

For the fourth month in a row, more than 57 percent of retail sales of Ford F-150 light-duty trucks are powered by V6 engines – reversing 47 years of V8 engine dominance in the industry. More than 45 percent of these

sales are trucks equipped with Ford’s 3.5-liter EcoBoost.

Over the last three years, retail registrations of light-duty pickups powered by V6 engines grew more than 600 percent, with F-150 directly responsible for 91 percent of that growth, based on Ford analysis of Polk retail registration data.

The segment-exclusive technologies built into every EcoBoost engine, including turbocharging and direct fuel injection, are particularly relevant for truck customers. This combination of turbocharging and direct fuel injection delivers a wealth of low-end torque and maintains it across a broad rpm range, which is key in towing applications.

The 3.5-liter EcoBoost truck engine delivers 420 lb.-ft. of torque and 365 horsepower to enable towing of up to 11,300 pounds – more than enough to tow a fully loaded, three-horse trailer or a large boat. Plus, this engine does it all on regular fuel and with outstanding fuel economy.

In the last three years, no competitor has eclipsed a 20 percent take rate for V6 engines in half-ton trucks. It’s been a predominantly

V8 crowd, until the introduction of the Ford EcoBoost V6.

That efficiency a V6 engine delivers is starting to have a significant impact on the environment. By moving half a million F-150 customers out of V8s and into V6 engines, Ford has saved more than 56 million gallons of fuel – more than all of the fuel saved from every electric and plug-in electric car ever sold.*

Along with the 3.5-liter Ti-VCT and 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 engines, the all-new 2015 Ford F-150 will offer a new 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine with standard Auto Start-Stop, built in Lima, Ohio.

Production of EcoBoost is supported, in part, by Ford’s green partnership with the U.S. Department of Energy. Ford has 11 facilities in the U.S., including retooling of Cleveland Engine Plant where EcoBoost is made, participating in the Advanced Technology Vehicles Manufacturing Loan Program. This green loan program helped to develop advanced technologies and strengthen American manufacturing across the country.
