MOVING SMART ENERGY FORWARD BGE launches Osprey Watch

More than 3200 BGE employees continue the commitment we began in 1816 to provide our customers with safe reliable energy Now two centuries later wersquore moving smart energy forward by launching innovative customer partnerships like Osprey Watch which helps protect ospreys and customersrsquo electric service reliability

Ospreys often use utility poles as a nesting site endangering the birds and potentially causing power outages Therefore if our customers notice an osprey nest on BGE equipment they are encouraged to report the location via OspreyWatchBGECOM

4 If the pole is easily accessible customers are asked to send us the pole number located on a placard near eye level on the pole

4 If the pole is not easily accessible customers are asked to send us the nearest address to the pole and attach photos of the pole (taken from different perspectives if possible)

Once the nest is reported BGE will remove it if no birds or eggs are present If the nest is inhabited deterrents will be placed on the electric equipment to shield the birds and nests and mitigate the risks of contact Reliability programs such as Osprey Watch have contributed to a 43 percent decrease in the number of total electric outages since 2006

BGE Calendar Year 2015 Emission Disclosure Label The following environmental information is for BGE customers with Standard Offer Service which is provided to those customers who have remained with BGE and who have not chosen a competitive electricity supplier
