Jacque went for shovels
and called Cork and JeffRiener to bring a water tank.Kayla stayed at the highway toflag down the water brigade.After 200 gallons of water, thefire was doused.Ron and Cindy Sattler of

Cassidy of St. Francis pro-vided an interesting programand spoke of experiences as anewly-elected state represen-tative in Topeka.David Swank reported on
the Alzheimer’s garage salethat was held in May in Ober-lin. He reported that $903 indonations were contributedthis year to the Alzheimer’sFund, about $100 more thanlast year.Ron Katt of Victoria, area 5
vice president, made a presenta-tion of three certificates ofaward the chapter had receivedat the NARFE state conventionin Salina in April. The awardspresented to the chapter werefor outstanding contributions tothe NARFE Alzheimers pro-gram and an award for the high-est dollar-per-membercontribution in the state forAlzheimers. Ron also presenteda chapter certificate in recogni-tion of an eight percent totalmembership gain for 2011-2012.The next NARFE meeting
will be held at 4 p.m., Sunday,Sept. 16 near Oberlin atSappa Park.Members of the Oberlin
