July 27th 2017 Meeting Minutes

We had 13 attendees: Jessica Walker, Joe Rivers, Fred Conrad, Don & Janie Baskin, Keith and Nancy Wilcox, John Roger Mente, Zuri Carter, Bryan Dell, Roy Hall, Larry, Tyler & Amy Crahan. Bryan Dell & Joe Rivers led the meeting. $81 in donations collected.

Bryan proposed to do backpack give away/picnic. Members voted to approve this event. Discussed Backpack give away details. Decided on August 12th, Noon until 2PM as the date and

time. Bryan donated $80 to buy one box of 24 backpacks. SHAG funds and donations from members will pick up the rest of the cost.

Went over details on 2nd Community walk/cleanup for August 5th. Joe went over problems with trash being dumped at the Pony Keg, end of Sprucehill, and

abandoned car wash. Joe discussed hiring neighborhood youth to do a cleanup. Members approved. Joe went over drug and trash problem on Birchridge. Will address issue with Springfield township

and property owner. Went over details on second neighborhood cleanup on Saturday August 26th. Bryan will get

Hillcrest Academy to help like last year. Talbert House will not be involved. Joe encouraged SHAG members to attend Springfield Township Trustee meeting. Talked about Dump your Junk event but did not iron out details. Talked about a sign for the Roosevelt Landscape. It is in the design phases at this time. Tyler requested to send members email reminders for meetings and events. Jessica talk about the go fund me page. Talked about the Metro Bus shelter. Funding from Metro still not available for this project. Gave out SHAG T-shirts to members that did not receive them last meeting. Roger Brought in tomatoes and cucumbers from his garden for the members. Thank you Roger.
