LYMES’ SENIOR CENTER Membership is open to seniors 55 Years Young & Better

26 TOWN WOODS ROAD - OLD LYMEWe are on Facebook listed as Lymes Senior Center

Follow and like us to keep up to date on upcoming events!Call (860) 434-4127 to register or for more information on becoming a member

Visit southeastern CT senior center website FOR UPCOMING EVENTShttp://seniorcenterct.org

Dear Friends,I am hoping this letter finds you all well and not going too stir crazy! If you are not currently getting our emails and wish to, please let us know. Every week I am sending out links and information on how to join upcoming virtual programs and classes.

In September, we hope to start a virtual Art Class with Sharon Schmiedel and to continue our Current Events & History lectures virtually with Jared Day, Ph.D. Please watch for details in your August newsletter.

On pages four and five of this newsletter, there is a calendar of events that our members can participate in virtually. This is a collaboration of the work of many Senior Centers across Connecticut. These programs are free and can be accessed through emailing the senior center listed below each program. Our hope is that this just gives you more programs from which to choose.

It has been a long spring and looks to be a long summer. I sure do miss our time together! With the governor still recommending that people 65 and older stay home and stay safe, please know that we are here to offer our support and lend you an ear during this quarantine. I know this isolation has taken a toll on many of you; if you feel alone and would like one of our Senior Center volunteers to call you weekly, please let us know by calling us at (860) 434-4127 ext. 1. In addition, if you need help running errands and/or grocery shopping due to precautions you are taking for COVID-19, Lyme and Old Lyme have volunteers to help. Please call the Senior Center for more information.

I hope that you enjoy the funny stories, word puzzles, and other features that I have included in this month’s newsletter!

Stay safe and be kind,

Stephanie
