[ou tgo ing] PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Greetings. As my second year as your CSI chapter’s President comes to an end, my first instinct is to reflect back on our accomplishments. It amazes me at the number of things our chapter has done to further the education and enrichment of the local AEC community, both technically and professionally. We are uniquely organized with a strong core of dedicated veterans and ambitious rookies all looking for ways to continuously drive the AEC conversation in the Lehigh Valley. “The difference between ordinary and EXTRAordinary is that little EXTRA.” Jimmy Johnson I love bragging about the Greater Lehigh Valley Chapter and I can easily put you to sleep waxing on about our members and activities. But as Thomas Jefferson said, “I like the dreams of the future better than the history of the past.”
In our 55th year as a vibrant chapter, we can’t rest on our laurels and we must continue to push forward and innovate our chapter to remain relevant in the lives of our members. Together we must continue to provide

vibrant, progressive, educational, and FUN programming for our members and future members. “Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today.” Malcolm X Our incoming executive board is full of great ideas. They see that CSI is the bridge that connects all of the other organizations in the valley and that increasing our outreach to these organizations will strengthen all in the process. They also see a huge need to mentor and train the next generation of AEC leaders. These young and emerging professionals can gain valuable leadership skills and experiences that will help them grow in their careers, lessons that are often lost in the day to day bustle of business. Change will continue to happen as we look to improve our member’s experiences, so take part and get involved with these initiatives to better not only the community as a whole, but yourself as an individual. “If you didn’t have fun at CSI you didn’t show up.” Mitch Miller
I want to close by thanking everyone that has supported my growth in the chapter and has assisted with making our chapter the best chapter in the country. To all of my fellow executive board members, our directors, our committee chairs and everyone who comes to meetings and engages in the programs, laughs, networks, helps, and spreads the word about us. It takes a village to make something great, and we are blessed with to be a part of this outstanding village that we call CSI. Cheers,Jon C. Lattin, CSI, CCPR

members and emerging professionals. YP meetings, “Let’s Build” and increasingly joint events with the other groups, like AIA, PSPE, ACE, ABC, IFMA, The Green Building United/ USGBC, Canstruction and others. Our outgoing President Jon Latin has set a high standard to follow, as have all the previous chapter leaders. In the next two years I intend to honor that legacy by helping the CSI Board continue to develop opportunities for members and to further integrate the allied organizations within the Greater Lehigh Valley.
I want us to redouble our efforts to attract new members especially the emerging professionals who would, like I should have, benefit from early involvement in CSI. To do this I need you, the members of our chapter, to recognize that what you have learned is valuable and it is our collective duty to transfer that knowledge to the next generations. If you haven’t been involved in a while, consider getting back into the groove. If you are new to the organization get involved in a committee or a task. The more you put in, the more you and everyone get out of that
effort. We will continue to post opportunities on our website, Facebook, and LinkedIn as well as with our meeting invites. When you see an opportunity that appeals to you, raise your hand! Clint Newton III, CSI, CDT, LEED AP
Greeting Greater Lehigh Valley!
As the new President of CSI Greater Lehigh Valley Chapter, I want to take a moment to tell you about what being a CSI member has meant to me and talk about the next two years. If I had known what my experience as a member would be like, I would have joined at the beginning of my career. When I first entered the industry, I didn’t join because I thought I had nothing to contribute. I could not have been more wrong. Since joining CSI I have met the best and the brightest minds in the industry and have learned more than I thought possible outside of college. These last five years have helped both my career development and my personal growth.
Is that a typical experience in CSI? Maybe not, but I saw quickly the opportunity and seized it. As I began to grow and learn, I also saw the need to share what I have learned with others so that they might benefit as well. Our chapter has recognized that we need to provide learning opportunities to our membership and in particularly our youngest
