Since 1871 the Great Valencia Fair has given the people of the city the perfect opportunity to rediscover and it at a different pace. The pace of summer, leading us to seek shade in the parks and the sea breeze. Moments for sharing the joy of living in the streets of a Mediterranean city, especially pleasant when the days are longer and the nights are an invitation to step outside.

This year, making the most of this spirit, the historic celebration will extend across the whole city of Valencia, with more than 250 activities taking place in around 80 different locations. A programme for all tastes and with something for everyone. This year it daringly seeks out new audiences, to attract both Valencia’s citizens and the thousands of tourists who come to visit us. Lots of music and theatre, popular culture, dances, humour, magic, traditional festivals and outdoor cinema are some of the main events taking place throughout July.

However, if one thing has to stand out amidst this year’s many innovations, it’s the varied pyrotechnic programme on offer. The Great Fair will boast six pyrotechnic displays sure to satisfy any appetite. From the barrage of fireworks to inaugurate the Great Fair to the final fire-running shows, not forgetting the nightly firecrackers, the exhibition of traditional firecracker strings and the sensational firework display set to music in the City of Arts and Sciences. This summer night of fire will be filled with art and innovation.

All this and a Battle of Flowers too, celebrating its 125th anniversary this year and honoured in the fantastic line-up of events for the Great Fair. The most pacific and colourful battle in the world will bring an end to July, and to a festival that sets out to start summer with a bang.
