The Intermediate Open was another fine success for Alessia Vincenzi and Whi-zoom. The two scored a 144 in a field of 26 winning this class. The 7-year-old stallion Topsail Whiz out of Dun It The Hard Way is owned by Jennifer Nixdorf. He has got NRHA LTE of over $ 27,000 and was 2009 NRHA European Futurity Ltd Open Cham-pion as well as 2011 Americana Maturity Champion. Alessia, who works as an assis-tant trainer with Rudi Kronsteiner, won the Limited Open at the 2012 NRHA European Futurity with this stallion. Barbara Hengge (AUT) and Smart Abigaile Orima (owner Benedikte Kuehschelm) placed second sco-ring a 143.5.

ScheduleThe NRHA European Affiliate Cham-pionship presents another exciting competition: the NRHA Youth Team Tournament. 15 teams will compete for the beautiful buckles medals and the prize money. Each team which is named after a Milli-on Dollar Rider, consists of three riders of different countries – one Youth 13 & under, two 14 – 18. For the tournament, the scores of these riders achieved in their EC classes will be added and make the composite score of each team. The highest placing team will get a schol-arship of $ 1,200 to be divided equally among the team members. They will also receive a beautiful Youth Team tournament buckle each. The second team will get a scholarship of $ 600. The first through 8th place teams will receive Tournament medals according to their placing. The winners will be announced on Fri-day at 6 p.m.

The NRHA Youth 13 & under started the NRHA European Affiliate Championship 2012 in Wiener Neustadt. In a field of 14 young riders, 13-year-old Shawn Wagner (GER) and his fine mare Oakendokie clai-med the Champion title with a beautiful run

scoring a 71. Oakendokie (owner Christian & Rosi Wagner) is by legendary sire Smart Chic Olena out of Oakwood Trim. Shawn, who trained with Alex Ripper first and now rides with Rudi Kronsteiner, got the mare two years ago. The two were 2011 NRHA Germany Year End Champion Youth 13 & under. Shawn was so happy about his suc-cess: “Oakendokie was simply great. I was very nervous as we were the first to go in
the arena, but then everything worked out perfect.” Tomorrow, Shawn and his mare will ride in the Rookie, and on Friday, they will have a go in the NRHA European Affi-liate Championship.Two riders tied for second place in this class scoring a 70.5: Sophia Wintschnig (AUT) riding Light Little Flo (owner Tanja Trixner) and Zoey Kant (NED) aboard Its Dun Time (Owner Miranda Kant).

His show record includes the ITRHA Futurity Intermediate Open Champion title as well as 2009 IRHA-NRHA Derby Limited Non Pro third. Bo Brutsaert’s gelding Soulas A Cinch (Soula Jule Star x Tinas Nu CD) was NRHA Fu-turity finalist.

With 33 entries, the NRHA Intermediate Non Pro was the biggest class of the first day of the NRHA European Affiliate Champi-onship. The winner was Thomas Ramstor-fer (AUT) aboard his Colonel Snapple who scored a 72. The 7-year-old gelding by Mr Snapple out of Colonel Mistress by Great Master Wake was bred by Roberto Cuoghi. Kelly Zweifel was 2008 IRHA Futurity Open finalist and 2009 NRHA European Futurity Open finalist with this horse. It is his third season with this gelding for Tho-mas Ramstorfer who showed cutting for some time and turned to reining about 3 ½ years ago. With Colonel Snapple, he was European Derby finalist in Manerbio. “He already felt good during our warm up. He likes hot weather and becomes better and better then.” The two who are riding with Markus Morawitz are now preparing for the NRHA EC Int. and Ltd. Non Pro .Four riders tied for second place scoring a 71.5: Teija E. Pietila (FIN) aboard Re-midoc, Alexander Nestelberger (AUT) aboard Jacs Hesa Doc, Willem Lomans (NED) aboard Whiz Me Luck and Alex-andra Reindl (AUT) aboard Kaliz Golden Smoke.
