Sixty-nine-year-old Arthur Pepper lives a simple life. He gets out of bed at
precisely 7:30 a.m., just as he did when his wife, Miriam, was alive. He
dresses in the same gray slacks and mustard sweater vest, waters his fern,
Frederica, and heads out to his garden.
But on the one-year anniversary of Miriam's death, something changes.
Sorting through Miriam's possessions, Arthur finds an exquisite gold charm
bracelet he's never seen before. What follows is a surprising and
unforgettable odyssey that takes Arthur from London to Paris and as far as
India in an epic quest to find out the truth about his wife's secret life before
they met--a journey that leads him to find hope, healing and self-discovery
in the most unexpected places.
Featuring an unforgettable cast of characters with big hearts and irresistible
flaws, The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper is a curiously charming debut
and a joyous celebration of life's infinite possibilities.

Meals on Wheels Driver Volunteers for Home Delivered Meals Needed
The Heritage Senior Center is currently recruiting volunteers to add to their pool of Home Delivery drivers. There are currently 5 different routes in the Dover area that deliver meals to home bound seniors 60 and over who are at a nutritional risk for financial reasons or due to a physical, emotional, or mental disability. Currently, 7 frozen meals are being delivered on Mondays to cover 7 days a week worth of food. In the fall, the senior centers are preparing to begin delivering again on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The time commitment can be one time per week to fill in as needed, averaging 1.5-3 hours to complete a route between 10:00am – 1:00pm. Requirements are a vehicle, fuel, valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, and proof of auto insurance. Basic orientation is provided covering safe food handling. Information is given to observe the health and welfare of the clients when deliveries are made. Perspective drivers are invited to go out on a route with the Home Delivery Meal Coordinator or another seasoned route driver to learn the routes. If you are interested, please call the Heritage Senior Center at 717-292-7471 and ask to speak to the Home Delivery Meal Coordinator.
We greatly appreciate everyone who has been helping to support the new building fund! We continue to have opportunities for people to help out with this endeavor. Any donation helps. If you would like to donate to have your name on a plaque there are different levels of contributions. There will be a plaque for those who have contributed $1000. The Bronze Plaque will have the donors’ names who contributed $3,000. The Silver Plaque will have the donors’ names who contributed $5,000 and the Gold Plaque will have the names of donors who contributed $10,000.
Kitchen Volunteers Needed
The senior center needs volunteers to help with meal service and clean up in the kitchen. If you are
able to help out one day a week or more, please contact the center to fill out a volunteer form and to
schedule orientation.
Volunteers Needed for Giant Food Pickup The senior center is looking for volunteers to pick
up the baked goods at Giant by 9:00am on Saturdays and Sundays. If you are interested
please contact us to fill out the volunteer application form and to get more details.
Inquiries please call: 717-292-7471.
The New Heritage Senior Center Building
A great way to help support the senior center is by purchasing mugs with a picture of the new building on one side and the logo on the other side. They are still available for a limited time. When you purchase a mug for $10.00 the profits will go toward the construction of the new building.
