Beloved Parishioners,
I would like to know that you had a great week, and
I would like to be the first one to welcome you back.
Last weekend, in addition to focusing on the message
from the Gospel where we witnessed Jesus being
questioned by the people of His own native place, we
also focused on the message of St. Paul who reminded
us of the importance of God’s grace. Indeed, God’s
grace is sufficient to help to deal with the daily chal-
lenges of life that come our way. St. Paul also re-
minded us that with God’s grace, even when we are
weak, we are then strong.
This weekend, the fifteenth Sunday in the ordinary
time, we meet Jesus with His disciples as He sends
them two by two and gives them the authority over
unclean spirits. Jesus advises them to travel light
which would allow them to move easily from one
house to the other. Before sending them on the mis-
sion, Jesus warns them about rejection where they
may not be welcomed and may not be listened to eve-
rywhere they go. However, because of the urgency of
the message of repentance, they should not be discour-
aged by rejection.
Today Church Family, all of us have been called and
sent to go and make disciples in our own way. There
was an urgency at that time for the message to be
preached, and more then ever, today this urgency still
remains. I pray that God’s grace will be sufficient as
you continue to give testimony on behalf of Jesus.
Once again, thank you for your warm welcome and
hospitality as I continue with my Pastoral Visits.
May you have a very blessed week.
With love and admiration,
Very Rev. Oswald P. Pierre-Jules, Jr., S.S.J., V.F.
