Overview
Join us at the National Flute Workshop this summer.
This year, two tiers are available: Tier I: for collegiate
through professionals; and Tier II: for high school
flute students, ages 13-18. Faculty and counselors are
flutists available to help students of all levels. Private
lessons, master classes, small ensembles, and other
activities will improve the overall knowledge and
abilities as a musician. Participants will experience
college life first-hand for five days with other students
who share similar interests.
Classes will begin on Monday, July 10 at 9am. While
every effort is made to provide each student with a
compactly designed schedule, students may have
breaks in their schedule throughout the day. These
breaks will provide time for extra practice and rest.
Please bring a pencil, your flute, any music you would
like to work on with our faculty, a metronome, and a
piccolo, if you have one. We request that students do
not leave campus without permission of the Workshop
staff and adult supervision.
Come prepared to play a polished piece for the first
class meeting. Your teacher can readily assess your
needs by hearing a technically and musically mature
piece. Students will receive additional repertoire on
site.
