    Dear fellow Leo readers, welcome back to the Jukebox, August 2013 - Strength Issue.This month, we have a long list of tasks and assignments. We are organising club anniversary andclub installation and initiation ceremony in September. Besides, we're adding a new ally this year, towork together in Leo Clubs' activities and development as close as brother and sister. Anyway, I willleave this announcement to be made by club official later.Let'set's talk about the Strength. We're going to manage a series of events in one month time, strongmotivation is an essential driver to make it happen. The strong strength is built by all of us, the BODand it is supported by all members. We can't do anything without the support from the members.Let's make these events the most remarkable chapter in Leo Club of Penang (City) journal.     Dear Leos from Penang (City)Ass July passes by, the Board of Directors has never stopped working on projects and activities. Infact, we are putting in more effort in planning and preparing for our upcoming events, trying to strikehigher. This is the same for the Editors Team. They are trying hard to further improve on the monthlynewsletter. With all their effort, I hope all of you had an enjoyable yet resourceful time reading ourJukebox - The Assemble (July Issue). Well, here is the AugustIssue, namely StrengthIssue. Asmore and more works are coming in, we need strength and corporation among our own members,especially for the most important event for Leo Club of Penang (City) - ThePresentation2013which falls on 14th September 2013!hich falls on 14th September 2013!For our Jukebox, I was delighted especially when we received some positive and good feedbackfrom our members. This includes our members who are currently studying or working at overseas,they have commented and gave positive responses. All these words and comments are veryencouraging and motivating towards us. We are glad that we are getting closer in achieving one ofour main purpose of Jukebox, which is to spread our club's news and updates to all our membersno matter how occupied or where they are.Overver the last month, our club has started something different, which is our monthly TT - Tea Talk orTeh Tarik Session. We had two TTs for July, which were TT Dinner at Khun Thai Penang as well asBowling TT. Thanks to both of the Organizing Chairpersons, we have spent some quality timehanging out together. As for TTs, I still recall how happy I was when one of our member came to meand told me that he likes our club's TT very much and he hopes for more. For those of you whomissed out on our July TTs, fear not as we will be having more TTs coming each month!Augustugust is a very meaningful month, full with lots of history. It is not only our Malaysia IndependenceDay, but it marks the date of birth for our Sponsoring Lions Club - Lions Club of Penang (Host) in1963, as well as our own Club - Leo Club of Penang (City) in 1977. I would like to take thisopportunity to wish Happy Merdeka to Malaysia, Happy 50th Anniversary to Lions Club of Penang(Host) and Happy36thAnniversarytoLeoClubofPenang(City)!Thank you. Roar! Roar!     Greetings from the BOD of Leo Club of Penang (City), we are excited to invite you to join us for ourevent, LeoClubofPenang(City)-ThePresentation2013!

    The Presentation 2013 is an important occasion for all the Leo Club of Penang (City) members.Key Officers and Board of Directors for the Fiscal Year 2013 - 2014 will be officially taking their oathduring the InstallationCeremony, then, new members will be officially initiated into the club,witnessed by the Guest of Honour, Special Guests, Lions, Leos and guests.

    Besides, we are thrilled to announce that Leo Club of Penang (City) is twinning with LeoClubof Medan Spirit, Indonesia during The Presentation 2013! Our club members have beenspending moments with Medan Spirit Leo members in several activities. We have decided toestablish relationship and work closer in Leo Club development together.

    In addition, we will be having ComputerNotebookPresentationCeremony, donated by thepublic and corporate organisations, to S. J. K. (C) Kong Min Cawangan I. The notebookspresentation aims to replace the old computers in the school, to improve learning experience of thestudents in e-KSSR programme, and to prepare the school to become a Smart School in future.The organising commitee team of The Presentations 2013 is working hard to raise fund for theproject mentioned, we hope that we can achieve a successful result in the ceremony.

Wewere happy to have two guests to join us in the T T, they were Elaine and C indy. It was a great oppo rtunity toshare some Leo information with them and they are potential member for the club.The wonderful occasion continued with another session at a cafe.he wonderful occasion continued with another session at a cafe. Hence, a total number of 5 club members have participated in this meaningful yet eyeopening dinner. The Leos were happy to have the opportunity to meet District 308 B2 Governor LeeBoon Hoe, the International President, Barry J. Palmer, Council Chairperson Cheng Yik Siong, PCC,PDG, Lions Cabinet Officers and all the Lions.

    Building Project organized by the Sister Club, Leo Club of ChungLing High School.

    At about 10.00am, we were gathered at the basketball courtand divided into different groups. Few games were conducted tochallenge our team spirit and other aspects. It was great to have ateam building together with the Sister Clubs, Leo Club of ChungLing High School and Leo Club of Convent Datuk Keramat.

    President Leo Teoh Shaw Jhee has supported and attendeda fund raising charity car wash organised by Leo Club ofTanjung Penang together with Leo Fung Wei Fong on 28 July.

    This year, our Sponsoring Lions Club of Penang (Host) is celebrating 50th Anniversary. On3 August, we have attended the memorable and meaningful anniversary dinner at E&O Hotel. Itwas really amazing as we could meet Lions and guests from other districts as well as listen toinspiring speeches delivered by the VIPs. Again, Happy 50th Anniversary to Lions Club ofPenang (Host)!

    The Lions Club of Penang (Host) was officially chartered on 6th August 1963, one of thefirst Lions Clubs to be formed in Malaya. The word Host denotes the premier position of beingthe first Lions Club to be established in a certain locality, community, state or country.

    Lions Club of Penang (Host) is a member of the International Association of Lions Clubswith its headquarters in Oak Brook, Illinois, USA. Geographically, the club belongs to MultipleDistrict 308 which encompasses Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei. As from July 1998, MultipleDistrict 308 has been re-districted and it is now one of the oldest clubs in District 308 B2.

    With emphasis on service and an enthusiasm to train the youths of Penang to acquireLeadership, Experience and Opportunity, Lions Club of Penang (Host) has sponsored the LeoClub of Convent Dato Kramat, the Leo Club of Penang (City) and the Leo Club of Chung LingHigh School. These clubs function under the close guidance of Lions Club's members, whoseduty it is to inculcate in the Leos, the Spirit of Lionism.

Sometimes, people may question me, Areyou able to handle your workloads as both secretaries? My answer would be: to distribute mytime wisely and complete whatever tasks as soon as possible that comes to me. Dontprocrastinate on anything that you feel is not important at that moment. The more you drag yourtasks, the heavier your workloads will be.LeoLeo C lub is a big family, we must join our hands together, get ourselves involvedand lets serve together with a sincere heart, says Leo E dwin.WhatisyourmaindirectiontocontributeinLeoClubprogramme?Its my pleasure for being trusted to be given such opportunity to serve my club and also theLeos in District 308 B2 especially the Alpha Leos at the same time.
