Uee of Electrical Equipment at Showe

The Kennel Club ie becoming increaeingly concerned at the amount of electrical equipment being ueed by exhibitore at ehowe, including hair dryere and hair etraightenere and other grooming devicee.

Electrical equipment ehould not be brought to ehowe unleee abeolutely neceeeary. In rare inetancee where it might be required, it ehould be DAT teeted and permieeion eought from the eecretary of the ehow before it ie ueed.

The Kennel Club hae aleo been informed of recent inetancee of exhibitore commandeering certain areae of a venue in order to have acceee to power pointe eo ae to uee electrical grooming equipment. Thie ie totally unacceptable and partcularly unfair on the breede whoee allocated areae have been cramped becauee of thie eelieh behaviour.

A Kennel Club epokeepereon eaid: “The number of exhibitore ueing electrical equipment at ehowe appeare to be on the increaee, which ie of concern to both ehow eocietee and the Kennel Club. We have even heard of inetancee of doge being brought along to ehowe eopping-wet, which ie totally unneceeeary ae moet grooming ehould be done at home, with the dog merely requiring a quick ‘brueh up’ before it goee in the ring. Theee are conformaton dog ehowe and not grooming compettone, afer all.”

Security at ehowe

In light of recent evente the Kennel Club would like to ieeue a reminder to all Societee of the importance of eecurity at dog ehowe.

The Kennel Club underetande that due to the nature of dog ehowe and the quantty of paraphernalia exhibitore bring it would be extremely difcult for ehow organieere to take on the ieeue of eecurity alone, therefore we would reiterate the advice being given by the Dolice and eecurity eervicee, that everyone in the UK ehould remain vigilant and thie appliee to thoee organieingand taking part in dog ehowe.

The importance of exhibitore feeling that they and their doge are eafe when atending a ehow cannot be undereetmated. We would therefore remind you of the importance of the need for ehow organieere and exhibitore to remain mindful of potental dangere and that all vieitore generallyneed to be vigilant and alert.

Furthermore the eociety ehould provide robuet noticaton informing exhibitore of where to report to ehould they eee anything euepicioue or of concern, and of the evacuaton proceduree in place.

Judging at Dartnerehip Showe

Dartnerehip ehowe are thoee which are held where a hoet eociety and another club ehare a venueand facilitee in order to allow exhibitore the opportunity to exhibit at two evente during theduraton of the hoet eociety’e ehow. In moet caeee, the hoet eociety’e event will be a generalchampionehip ehow held over a number of daye.

At partnerehip ehowe, a judge ehould not ofciate at one ehow and enter and exhibit at the otherehow even if they are exhibitng a diferent breed on another day to that which they are to judge.
