JUBILEE ARTWe celebrate the Queens Diamond Jubilee at Harveys Cellars with several artists who are commemorating the event with their own interpretation of the theme.

We have chosen artists whose works represent British symbols, tradition, landmarks, heritage, patriotism and royalty to create a dramatic and colourful exhibition, appro-priate for this national celebration.

The Harveys Cellars team are also putting together a wonderful array of drink and food samples throughout the celebrations and a specifically designed British tapas menu.

It’s time to celebrate all things British.

ANGELA LIZONAngela Lizon has been surrounded by all things pink, fluffy and kitsch for many years through her daughters’ influences and it was only natural that this fed into her work. This, plus the influence of George Stubbs’ large paintings, led to the creation of paint-ings that makes a kitsch image desirable on a grand scale.

It wouldn’t seem appropriate to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee without an image of her much loved Corgi. Angela’s technical mastery is unmistakable in her wonderful image and adds a humorous aspect to the exhibition as he is aptly bejewelled with a crown against a backdrop of the Union Jack.

ALISON BLACKInspired by the abstract expressionists of the 20th century and Primitivism, Alison Black’s work expounds an animated energy through its bright colours and bold out-lines.

The city scape of London captures the viewer’s attention on first glance whilst her im-age of Vivienne Westwood adds another dimension to the exhibition. Westwood was appointed a BDE in 2006 by the Queen for her services to fashion and is now seen as one of the most recognisable and celebrated British icons.

JON BENTLEYIntriguing and captivating; Jon Bentley’s rarely rational paintings aim to provoke ques-tions rather than provide answers.

Taking inspiration from his dreams, Bentley’s work transports the viewer into a differ-ent realm. At times bizarre, his random objects, figures and themes provides innova-tive twists on well known imagery. His Queen of Spades painting in particular is a truly inventive image. Projected onto a playing card and holding two pink roses, her majesty is given a rather magical aura.

Bentley’s ability to combine surrealism and realism will capture you on first glance.

SUSIE NAGEL-DAVIESSusie Nagel Davies’s energetic scenes focus predominantly on London. With images of the Queen, the underground and the union jack she captures the essence and vibrancy of our countries capital. With her intensely colourful palette the viewer is pre-sented with a real sense of the buzz and energy of the city.

ZOE BUTTONZoe Button’s art focuses on the city of London. Her work is intriguing as she takes great interest in the changing faces of the city depending on weather, season and light.

‘Good Morning London’ gives our bustling metropolis an almost gentile and vulner-able nature whilst simultaneously capturing its urbanity.
