Standing 40 feet high and stretching 655 feet long, connecting the Corregidor Inn area and South Beach via a double standard system that comprises of two cables and two double pulleys is Sun Cruises’ (SCI) newest tourist attraction in Corregidor, the ROCKet Zipline, which was launched last December 15, 2009.

SCI Marketing Manager Kristine Castro said that SCI envisions Corregidor to become an adventure island more than just an historical island that hosts various athletic and introspective activities from Corregidor aquathon challenge, beach football, and kayaking race to bird watching, sunset watching, and rock balancing. Through the launch of the zipline, SCI inches closer to their vision.

SHOWTIME!Throughout the event, gutsy and artistic MPs showed their talents in presentation numbers: HRG Fleet Heads gamely danced to the tune of “Nobody, nobody but you”, NMC Cadets danced in a medley of the latest hit songs, Lorenzo staff used black lights to tell the nativity story in an exceptional hand-mime number, MIS Cadets performed a hip-hop dance complete with masks similar to popular dance group Jabawockeez, BBCI staff interpreted Micheal Jackson’s “Heal the world” in a complete song-dance-act presentation, and finally Elver Esquivel of MMC and the MAGSAYSAY Children’s Chorale sang Christmas songs.

Many prizes were given away that night like a flat screen TV, DVD stereo component, video camera, trips to Corregidor and Hong Kong with hotel accommoda-tions, and loads of cash prizes of as much as P10,000. Cash prizes were donated by the generous hearts of the Ho Family, principals, and executives.

HONORING RCFHOAs a birthday gift to RCFHo, EUM introduced a video presentation on the origins of MAGSAYSAY and Fairmont which was prepared by DHO, Helen Ho, and Grace Carmona of Corporate Communications Depart-ment. MPs enjoyed watching the journey of RCFHo from his early years in post-war Shanghai, establishing MAG-SAYSAY and Fairmont, to being honored in the Ningbo Musem in China, and being conferred by the University of British Columbia. Beyond doubt, he has made invalu-able contributions to Philippine and world shipping.

For being a source of pride and inspiration to all MPs, everyone gave RCFHo a standing ovation at the end of a video. As a closing, all MPs formed a circle and held hands while singing “If We Hold On Together”.

The gathering was one of the most meaningful in the history of MAGSAYSAY’s Christmas parties. The mov-ing spirits behind the Christmas Party are members of the organizing committees from HROM, Accounting, Masaya, HSES, Homer Foundation, and Corporate Communications led by HROM’s Nette Quiazon and Vicky De Guzman.
