Notes:

1. Primary site navigation is highlighted in blue throughout this document. This coloring doesn’t represent design but it represents functionality. The left rail nav provides users with a consistent way to represent the site allowing them to take the same path to a page each time they visit.

2. This is the secondary site navigation which allows users to browse the site through tags. When the user visits the home page they are automatically in the ‘All’ tag where they see everything, the other four tags could be random each time or whichever ones have the most ‘weight’.

3. Hovering on the read article link in a top story will apply an animation on the element where a rectangle with a 3px border, a solid white fill a black text transitions in.

4. The active state for the search bar should be a 1px outline of the same color as the blue ‘Search’ text and the fill of the search bar should be set to white. The focus state should be a glow.

5. Grow transform animation with elastic easing on hover.

6. By default the home mosaic is set to the ‘all category’, when a tag is selected the current grouping of story items will transition out. The out animation for each tile should be staggered, animating the top padding so they appear to be falling off of a board. The new grouping of items will bubble up in the opposite manner.
