Lars Vejen initially created the STRAIGHT Collection by re-using variouselements in DuPont Corian. The outcome was a series of shelves and panelsoffering simple and functional features to both kitchen, bathroom and living room.

- THE CAN THAT WON WORLD WAR II -

As many of today’s unique designs, Jerry Cans also origin from a time with limited resources and a

necessity to create successful designs.

One of the truly important historic transportation products is the Jerry Can - a nickname created by

the British and US forces.A “Jerry” was used as slang for Germans during WWII.

Thereby the name A Jerry Can. The originally can name was

”Wehrmacht-Einheitskanister” for”armed forces unit canister”.

The Jerry Can was developed in the 1930s formilitary use.

The fuel had to be efficiently stored andtransported to aid soldiers and war machines at the front lines. Without fuel, tanks couldn´t drive and

without tanks, the war would be lost.

Danish Fuel is created by collecting used Military Jerry Cans and upcycle them into storage designs

– an exclusive lifestyle productMade In Denmark.

- IN 1944, MORE THAN 21 MILLIONS JERRY CANS WERE SPREAD ALL OVER EUROPE -

The Jerry Can was used for kerosene, water, diesel and gas.

- BRILL IANT DESIGN -

The design was absolutely ahead of it´s time. It could be stacked efficiently,

and had three handles making it easy to carry everywhere.

Once collected, the upcycling process of the used Jerry Cans, ranges from 2-3 weeks. Not two Jerry Cans are alike. After cutting and drilling, the old paint and rust is burned off in a furnace, thereby making it ready for the sandblasting.

New strong Powder paint is added. The powder melts in the own at 180 degree Celsius for about 10 minutes.

Shelves for Bar and Bath Cabinets of Walnut, Oak or Smoked finishes are molded up into plywood.

Assembled with antique surfacemirrors, stainless hinges, and screws.

- JERRY CAN PRODUCTION DURING WORLD I I -

The German Einheitskanister was first duplicated by theUS Armies, followed by the British Armies. In the end, more than

200 factories were manufacturing Jerry Cans throughout WWII.Specifications for the Wehrmachtskanister:

- capacity of 20L / Empty weight of 4 kg.- cam-lock top.- could withstand 50° ambient temperature.- simple construction of two pressed plates.- recessed welded seams resistant to shocks.- hot applied synthetic lining to resist corrosion.- floats in water when full – possible due to an internal air pocket.
