Mains AnalysisIs the quality of the power supply for your business indispensable and of utmost importance? Then you should not hesitate to perform a comprehensive mains analysis. It does not matter whether you consider a data center, an industrial plant or office workstations - our service technicians will analyze your network both at UPS-side and at the general supply side. We examine by measurements with your own equipment 3-pha-se low voltage power supply and track events and anomalies. Loss of quality in terms of noework quality can be caused by switching operations by load changes or by non-linear loads.

Our Mains Analysis Service in Detail:

Voltage/Current/Frequency High interference components in power systems can lead to a shortfall in production. Using a V/C/F - Ana-lysis, we can analyse and recognize coarse interference components in power-supply systems. By determi-nation of the crest factor we are able to work out an initial assessment of the power system with regard to its interference components.

Drops and PeaksDrops and peaks in power systems can lead to failure of sensitive electronic equipment. Switched mode power supplies can be irreparably damaged. By means of this particular analysis, we can detect voltage drops and peaks, interruptions, power fluctuations and peak values . According to EN61000-4-30 the varia-tions between half a cycle can be up to several seconds. In a 3-phase system the drop or peak begins when the voltage in one or more phases falls below or increases above a defined threshold. Dips and peaks are characterized by the duration, magnitude and time of occurrence. We record this and thereby we are able to locate sources of interference.

HarmonicsHarmonics are periodic distortions of the sinusoidal signal of voltage, current or power. Harmonics can cause overheating of transformers, conductors and motors. We record harmonic and inter-harmonics. A signal form is a combination of diverse sine waves having different frequencies and amounts. We determine the share of each of these components to the full signal.

Power / EnergyOur technicians can locate your energy consumption and provide guidance for optimization. The overloading of a transformer can be detected early. We detect apparent power, active power, reactive power, power factor and displacement power factor.

FlickerThe so-called flicker quantifies the number of lamps brightness variations caused by voltage fluctuations in power supply. A high-speed flicker can cause headache and indisposition. We record all necessary parame-ters using an algorithm according to the standard EN61000-4-15, and can locate the cause of the flickering.

AsymmetryVoltage asymmetries cause extremely asymmetrical currents in motor stator windings and shorten generally engine life strong. We record and analyze your power system, identify potential asymmetries and make re-commendations to avoid this.

TransientsTransients are fast peaks in the voltage or current signal which may have such high energies that sensitive electronic devices be disturbed or damaged. Computer systems often run for no apparent reason a restart. We detect transients occurring by measurement and search for the root cause. Such measures may help to prevent interference with other users.

Inrush CurrentsInrush currents are so-called surge currents, known to occur when switching-on low-impedance load. Inrush currents can interfere with other devices in operation. High current peaks can cause unexpected release of isolating switches for example. We analyze the power quality during the occurrence of inrush currents and thereby we can make an evaluation of the interference of other devices.

Our products are complex systems whose components subject to normal wear and tear, hence maintenance by a professional trai-ned technician is the safe way to get the maximum performance for your systems throughout their life cycle and to minimize the risk of failure.

Based on our long experience, we have developed an effective and cost-optimized service program for our customers. With a maintenance contract our specialists will check the function of your equipment, including batteries and work out together with you the actions that are necessary to ensure the continued relia-bility and availability of your systems. We recommend a mainte-nance contract immediately when purchasing a device to receive security and maximum protection of your investment. After maintenance you will receive a detailed protocol for your documentation. We store your equipment in our database to be ready with accordingly necessary wear parts immediately next time.

JOVYATLAS holds ready an extensive range of spare parts for its customers. Thus, we can ensure the long-term allocation of the common spare parts for all devices which have been designed by JOVYATLAS, for a minimum period of 10 years from the purchase of the system.

On request, our service specialists create a list of wear parts - individually tailored to your system. This sim-plifies the recording of operating costs for the lifetime of your installation. This list includes for example the exchange of highly stressed components and provides detailed information about the expected operating costs.

Battery Tests

Replacing BatteriesThe safe operation of the battery is of vital importance for your systems. Therefore, we already are setting very high standards to our choice of battery suppliers. Basically bat-teries have got a limited lifetime, however. Depending on the application and ambient conditions, the battery life time may vary considerably. We recommend our customers to check the status of your battery regularly by our staff. Our service technicians are constantly trained in collaboration with our battery suppliers. Of course, the batteries are disposed of after successful replacement accordingly by our technicians.

Battery Symmetry Supervision - JOVYATLAS BASYM To ensure the proper operation of the equipment, a monitoring of its battery systems is essential. The Battery Symmetry Monitoring System („BASYM“) developed by JOVYATLAS is a simple and economical solution for this monitoring. The standard software of the UPS automatically or manually initiates a battery test. However, this test battery has only a limited informative value about the battery status. The optionally available Battery Symmetry Monitoring Systems (BASYM) of JOVYATLAS offers more differentiated and comprehensive dia-gnoses. In addition to the total voltage the center of the battery circuit is monitored. If a defective battery cell is detected the center will be shifted and an alarm will be triggered.

Battery Analysis & Care System In addition to a monitoring of the battery symmetry there is also the possibility to monitor every single battery pack by BACS module. These BACS modules are connected to each battery and monitor the individual block voltages and block temperatures. The BACS modules ensure a uniform block voltage in the battery circuit and extend the life expectancy of the battery.

Earth Fault Suvervision - JOVYATLAS ESWMany DC power sources are constructed isolated, that is, the DC voltage is electrically isolated from the input power. As a consequence the protection of the consumer must be basically two poled and that the DC bus has to be checked with a ground fault supervision permanently. If a defective consumer generates a ground fault, no backup is triggered thereby initially. The protective action of the isolated system, howe-ver, is repealed. To detect this error, an earth fault monitoring is mandatory or required. For this purpose JOVYATLAS offers with its Earth Fault Supervision System „ESW“ a cost-effective solution.

UPS Systems for RentFor all customers who need to use sensitive devices requiring a secure power supply in their operation for a limited time frame, we have set up a UPS rental service at JOVYATLAS.

JOVYATLAS can provide a complete UPS system on a loan basis, offering you the option to use a UPS system for a short time at a fair price. We can deliver in no time - but keep in mind: we have a limited number available in our rental service.
