Interesting Facts Concerning Education According to Kim et al (2012) today, across thecountry, approximately three-fourths of U.S.Schools provide students with either fullyonline or blended (Combination of on-and off-line) courses, with 69% of those studentsenrolled at the high school level (Picciano &amp;Seaman, 2007)(p. 4). These type programs are still considered to bein its Nascent Stages. This is interesting as theworld becomes more technology driven andglobally connected. A whopping 1.5 million students enrolled incharter schools throughout the United States in2009 (Allen, Consoletti &amp; Kerwin, 2009). Thispresents researchers and practitioners with aquestions regarding the need for more relevantinformation, a rigorous yet stimulatingcurriculum, and a better design of public schoolsystems. 4. Interesting Facts Concerning Education Does the educational offering as it stands fallshort of the needs of current and futurestudents? In reflection of the authors findings,there is a strong correlation between studentsatisfaction and the quality and quantity ofonline interaction. This could explain why thefield of study has not progressed beyond itsinfancy. There is surely opportunities forgrowth and the evolution of the educationalsystem as we now know it. Society must invest in such endeavors. Afterall, the students effected by its findings andthe implementation of change are our future.Thus, these educational platforms need to bereviewed, revised, or recreated to reflect amore innovative, interactive educational modelthat bridges knowledge with real worldapplication. Does charter schools answer thesequestions or does it populate a new line ofinquiry? 5. Future ImplicationsEducation= Global FutureOpen Communication + Knowledge Sharing+ Versatility +Innovation and Success What if everyone questioned what was considered the normal? Would it spark creativity, innovativeness, and positive change? The possibilities could be endless. To succeed socially, economically, and environmentally, we must collectively yet productively change how we learn, interact, and measure growth and success. Is there a magic formula or a perfect mode or model for education and distributing knowledge? No, but the more times we fail to implement programs or devise a educational system that is self sustaining, the closer we come to a viable solution. Society must resist the urge to pledge allegiance to the preconceived assumptions of what the world needs, who should get it, and how that commodity (i.e. knowledge), is received or given. 8. Can Global Education Really Be Achieved?Conceptually, education is open and available to anyone who wants it. Reality,depicts a very different story. What is necessary to close the gaps in educationand delivery of information to the masses? Is it uniformity or innovativeness inthe design of educational systems and curriculum? 9. What does the Tree of Knowledgereally represent?Some would argue that itdepends on the individualinterpreting or evaluating it.The Proverbial Tree ofKnowledge never said how thatknowledge would be acquired orwhat methodology would beused to document or present it.Ultimately, society and itsinhabitants determines thesource and distribution channelof knowledge presented inclassrooms, whether it be brickand mortar or in some onlinecapacity.</p>
