► 85M € of GDP impact in 2014 related to 12 use cases analyzed
► Last year 21,600 jobs were created in Barcelona.
1,870 jobs were created or maintained as a result of 12 smart city programs
sponsored by Barcelona City Council
► 53.7M € of investment made by Barcelona city council in smart projects in
2014
► 0.53 € attracted of additional investment from partners for each euro of

MEASURING IMPACT: USE CASES HIGHLIGHTS
► The projects delivered 43M € of benefits between 2011-2104 and are
expected to deliver cumulative economic benefits of 832M € by 2025
► Will save 9,700 tonnes of CO2e and 600,000 liters of water each year in the
long term through reduced lighting power consumption, reduced travel and
office space from OVAC and smart park water
► Will increase the attractiveness of the city for entrepreneurs by improving
quality of life and increasing Barcelona’s brand strength

Mobile Community is born to bring together and bolster Catalonia’s mobile ecosystem
mCommunity aims to generate a stable group drawing together Catalonia’s mobileindustry and fortifying its ICT sector, which already boasts over 12,000 companies,86,000 workers and 18 billion euros in revenues. The initiative also comes aboutwith a dedication to promoting Barcelona as an internationally attractive city tospawn mobile businesses, and support the capture of foreign talent and investments.

WHAT IS CITY PROTOCOL SOCIETY?
WE are a nonprofit membership-based association of
cities, corporations, research and nonprofits that aims
at fostering an open community devoted to creating the
“Internet of Cities”. The Internet of Cities will provide
common solutions and solution platforms, crossing the
silos within and between cities, and building a more self-
sufficient future
