Jill has a degree in Equine Science and has 27 years of experience in the veterinary
industry with Hills Pet Products, Butler, and Heska.
She is originally from Dallas, Texas and has also lived in Arizona, New Mexico,
and now Colorado. Jill has an Australian Shepard, a cat, and three horses.

Clinic Feature
Morris J. Alhadeff Equine HospitalThe Morris J. Alhadeff Equine Hospital is a state-of-the-art facility used by the Emerald Downs
Veterinary Association in Seattle, Washington. The vet clinic has all the equipment necessary for a full
gamut of procedures. It is also used by the equine community in the surrounding area.
This outstanding facility is funded jointly by Northwest Racing Associates, track veterinarians, the fam-
ilies of Mike and Ken Alhadeff and private contributors. The vet clinic includes:
Surgery Suite
Two padded induction/recovery rooms
Radiology Room
Prep room for minor procedures
Isolation stall (for contagious ailments)
Dark room for film developing
Office space
It is staffed by Head Tech, Jim Jorgensen (no relation) and his assistants. Multiple equine pratictioners
provide services to their clients through this facility including: Brandli & Babcock, Traber-Bergsma-
Simkins, Tacoma Equine and Ed Alford. Dr. Robert Schneider from WSU was performing surgery on
a warmblood hunter's suspensory ligament the day we were there.
Pictures show Jim, the hospital inside and out, the horse being dropped, prepped and ready for surgery.
The folks always make you feel at home and are up for explaining procedures and plans at any time.

EZ TieMaintaining an endotracheal tube in the correct position is a critical component of anesthesia or surgery.
Any shift or displacement of an endotube during anesthesia can be life threatening. A common prac-
tice is to use a length of cotton gauze roll to first tie around the tube then around the animal’s muzzle.
Roll gauze can come untied or be difficult to quickly untie.
The EZ Tie was designed to be quick and easy to hold any endotracheal or anesthesia mask safely in
place. The thin but strong plastic tubing has 2 sliding clasps. These clasps readily move along the tub-
ing but hold steady under tension.
The first clasp is used to tighten around the ET tube or mask. The second slides along to tighten around
the patient’s muzzle. It also works extremely well with challenging brachycephalic breeds such as pugs
and felines.
