Jorge Mineiro é Médico, especialidade em Ortopedia e Traumatologia (Oxford) e fez pós-especialização (Estados Unidos da América) e Doutorado na Área do Trauma pela Faculdade de Medicina de Lisboa. É membro e assume cargos de dirigente em diversas Sociedades Médicas Nacionais e Estrangeiras na área da Ortopedia e Traumatologia, nomeadamente: Presidente da Sociedade Portuguesa de Ortopedia e Traumatologia; Chairman of the Girdlestone Orthopaedic Society – Oxford; Chairman do EBOT Examining Committee do Board Europeu de Ortopedia e Traumatologia (EBOT) e Diretor da Sociedade Portuguesa de Trauma, Vice-presidente da Sociedade Portuguesa de Coluna Vertebral, Presidente do Colégio de Ortopedia da Ordem dos Médicos, entre outros. É autor de vários trabalhos publicados em livros e revistas da especialidade, nacionais e estrangeiras. Galardoado com vários prémios internacionais entre os quais o Silver Merit Award da Comunidade Europeia (UEMS) pelo trabalho realizado em prol da Ortopedia Europeia. Desde 2000 é o Responsável pela Unidade de Ortopedia e Traumatologia do Hospital CUF Descobertas – Lisboa e foi entre 2007 e 2019 o Diretor Clínico do Hospital CUF Descobertas.

Jorge Mineiro is a medical doctor, specialist in Orthopaedics and Traumatology (Oxford), post-specialization (United States of America) and PhD in Trauma Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon. He is a member and assumes management positions in various national and foreign medical societies in the area of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, namely President of the Portuguese Society of Orthopaedics and Traumatology; Chairman of the Girdlestone Orthopaedic Society - Oxford; Chairman of the EBOT Examining Committee of the European Board of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (EBOT) and Director of the Portuguese Trauma Society, Vice President of the Portuguese Spine Society, President of the College of Orthopaedics of the Order of Physicians. He is the author of several papers published in books and specialized national and international journals. Awarded with several international prizes, among them the Silver Merit Award by European Community (UEMS) for the work done on behalf of European Orthopaedics. Since 2000 he has been in charge of the Orthopaedics and Traumatology Unit of CUF Descobertas Hospital in Lisbon and from 2007 to 2019 he was the Clinical Director of CUF Descobertas Hospital
