Check your team packets. Academic World Quest participants will have 8 answer sheets and World Quest participants will have 7 answer sheets.
You will have 30 seconds for most questions after the entire question has been read by the moderator to enter your answer on the answer sheet. Please note there will be a several questions where you will be given 45 seconds, 60 seconds or 2 minutes to complete your answer. I will indicate which questions those will be.
At the end of each round, answer sheets will be collected and graded by the scorers.
For fill-in-the blank questions, judges will follow the “close enough” rule
For personal names, last names are OK
For country names, any answer that clearly and properly identifies it will receive credit, even if there may be a more precise technical name
WHILE YOU’RE PLAYING
Any team with a serious concern about an answer to a question may present their argument in writing to the Judges Committee.
Appeals will be considered by the Judge Committee during question review periods and the outcome of your appeal will be provided after the completion of the competition
Final scores will be available after the award presentations; however, teams’ answer sheets and the competition questions themselves will NOT be made available after the event
