Defines the goal, objectives and principles for digitising the

cultural heritage;

Sets common selection criteria for objects to be digitised;

Provides for long-term preservation and access of the

cultural heritage.

Strategy for the Digitisation of the Lithuanian Cultural Heritage (2009) pursues the following objectives:

Establishment of competence centres within memory institutions;

Development and implementation of a virtual cultural heritage system;

Standardisation of digitisation, preservation and access workflows;

Encouraging initiatives on cultural heritage access.
