The JCL presents a common framework for providing logistic support to joint operations in the 2016-2028 timeframe and guides the development of future logistic capabilities. The JCL is a source document designed to initiate further assessments, studies, experiments, and technology demonstrations. It establishes a conceptual foundation for subordinate joint concept development.

JCL Potential Outcomes
• JLEnt capable of synchronizing partner processes and capabilities • Joint, rapidly deployable, modular, energy efficient base camps• Improved water production, distribution, recycling, extraction• Improved power production and distribution• Reduced energy consumption and demand• Manned and remotely piloted air and ground platforms for log missions • Reduced ammunition bulk (cube, weight) • Project and sustain forces over global distances directly to the destination
in the absence of capable airfields and ports• Sense and respond to materiel failures and consumption• Predictive Diagnostics to replace cyclical maintenance• Optimize joint use and effective oversight of contract support• Adaptive Logistics Network to access local economy resources• Real-time cyber/space based threat resistant global info system
