The Deadwood Parking & Transportation Committee will be hosting a Public Open House and Workshop as part of a master planning effort for the Lower Main Street parking lot on May 8, 2014 at the SpringHill Suites in Deadwood. The master plan will identify a vision for the site that will place a new Visitor Center, the Chamber of Commerce and public parking as well as other creekside and corridor enhancements into this context.
The Open House and Workshop will include an introductory presentation to help explain to participants the planning variables, followed by an on-site tour to collect information about existing conditions and then focused work sessions to generate plan concepts. Initial ideas will then be shared with the public in a pin-up presentation. Participants and City staff will be encouraged to share their insights in a variety of ways, described in the itinerary below.
•12:00 – 1:00: Introductory Presentation to the Public • 1:00 – 2:00: On-Site Tour and Activity • 2:00– 4:00: Mapping Exercises Site analysis Programming Site planning • 4:00 – 4:30: Discussion and Table Presentations • 4:30 – 5:30: Initial Design Team Work Session (Public break). • 5:30 – 7:00: Public Open House to present the day’s work.
