The EAB is a non-profit, nonpartisan association that supports all sections of the ID community across Europe, including governments, NGO’s, industry, associations and special interest groups and academia. We ultimately serve the citizens of Europe in the advancement of biometric ID systems that are fair, accessible, secure, while respecting privacy.

To achieve our mission, the work of the EAB is focussed on the following activities:

Sharing knowledge:Providing access to impartial knowledge and information to all ID stakeholders (Government, Industry, Academia – Europe / non-Europe) so that policies and investments are based on sound evidence and experience.
Leading the agenda:Leading the European agenda on ID and biometrics to make meaningful contributions to the challenges facing Europe.
Promoting innovation:Mobilising the European ID eco-system with the ambition to become the world-leading place for innovations (research & development) in the field of biometrics ID.
Growing opportunities:Supporting the European identity industry (from start-up to large-scale) to create a competitive marketplace, for the benefit of Europe.

Governance:

The EAB governance structure has a Board of Advisors, Supervisory Board and an Executive committee. All members have shown their passion for supporting the EAB’s mission and uphold our values of inclusivity, trust and impartiality.
Board of Advisors The EAB Board of Advisors consists of internationally renowned individuals that represent organisations that have an active interest in Europe. The Advisory board provides guidance and vision to ensure that the association is always relevant and impactful.
Supervisory Board The EAB Supervisory board is responsible for the supervision of the policies of the executive committee. They approve the strategy, as well providing advice on all matters that are considered relevant.
Executive Committee The EAB Executive committee is responsible for the strategy and management of the association.
EAB’s governance supports transparency and neutrality.
