Keynote Speakers
A Word from the Chair Richard Fox What brought me into this industry was the innovation, technical challenges, excitement and endless possibilities to explore. PETEX is built around our need to discover and review recent technical achievements, capturing that excitement, finding new ideas and sharing the possibilities that the sheer scale and global nature of our industry provides.
I am particularly proud that during these challenging times our exhibitors, speakers and members have stepped up to ensure we will have a memorable and successful event. We have kept true to our original guiding principles. PETEX 2016 is not just a conference and exhibition, it is a community for oil and gas professionals to take time out to think, challenge, discuss, learn – and most importantly, participate.
Come and join our community at PETEX – you will be taking part in something unique and special.
I look forward to seeing you there.
PETEX Ltd. would also like to thank the PETEX committee members for volunteering their time to ensure the success of the show, and the companies who have released them to serve in this way: BP, Dana Petroleum, Ikon Science, ExxonMobil, Premier Oil, Making Waves Marketing, Schlumberger, Seabed Geosolutions, Shell, Statoil, Woodside and Zebra Geosciences

The PETEX 2016 Technical Programme – The Industry Engine Is Still Switched On!
If proof were needed that the industry engine is still running, PETEX received a record submission of high quality abstracts in 2016 from which we have created an exciting technical programme of talks and posters; a 35% increase on 2014.
This premier UK E&P conference is designed to review and summarise the key industry trends in one single event. The programme of talks, posters and workshops, spanning three days, will run in three parallel streams, aligned around global, regional and technological themes.
At PETEX 2016 it will be possible to:
6 Raise your awareness of the regional geology of the key exploration hotspots including Mexico, Myanmar, Brazil & West Africa.
6 Better understand the impact of broadband and multi-component data in the North Sea, review the advances of complex imaging through case studies and look to the future of autonomous seismic acquisition.
6 Gain an insight into the future potential of the UK via insights into fractured Precambrian plays in the West of Shetland, the Zechstein carbonates of NW Europe and onshore tight gas in the UK.
To support the main conference programme there will be the Exploration Theatre, showcasing new technology case studies and the Collaboration Conference, where students and industry sponsors can showcase joint studies.
The technical programme will be given context via the opening keynote lectures, session keynotes and the highly relevant panel discussion that none of us can afford to miss.
The PETEX 2016 conference will be THE event in 2016 to network with your technical peers, gain an overview of the latest technologies, and explore your career.

Networking Reception17.00 Exhibition Floor
Collaboration is really at the heart of solving the key challenges facing the E&P sector currently, so AAPG (European Region), PESGB and the Petroleum Group are pleased to confirm a vibrant Petroleum Geoscience Collaboration Showcase.
The showcase provides an excellent opportunity for industry and academia to meet, get inspired and demonstrate the value of collaborative applied research. There will be ample opportunity for graduates and potential future employers to connect across the two-day programme which is fully integrated within the PETEX programme and located with a designated area on the PETEX exhibition floor.
We have received a large number of excellent examples of collaborative research across the suggested technical themes with a strong representation from structural geology, sedimentology, reservoir quality and exploration. We are also pleased to announce notable keynote speakers including Prof. John Underhill, Hon. Prof. Keith Gerdes, Prof. Bruce Levell and Dr. Ole Martinsen. High-quality poster sessions will also highlight some of the most interesting research and new exploration areas within the North Sea, West of Shetland and further afield.
Please come along and join us for some interesting and thought-provoking technical presentations and posters by leading researchers illustrating the results of their work and the value of collaboration between academia and industry.

Future Working Zone
PETEX 2016 looks to the future for new ideas, new ways of working, smarter, faster and more efficiently. This year we are delighted to include the Future Working Zone - specifically for those working in the digital energy arena, providing solutions around people, processes and technology. The Zone will include a full technical programme and opportunities for exhibitors to take a small booth at a special price. Technical themes will include:
6 The Future is different - How?
6 Integrated, Collaborative working - case studies and new ideas
6 Changing the way we work
6 Working smarter in a low oil price environment
6 Traditional Data Management - how will it evolve?
6 Standards - can we create a global community?
6 National Data Repositories - National Treasure or Necessary Evil?
Area sponsored by Target Energy Solutions
